I am buying a new home and I love this Berber carpet that I want to install. It is $2.18 sq.ft. I have 840 sq.ft to cover and the store quoted me $1500 just for the carpet alone. The complete quote was at $2511.00 for the carpet, pad and Installation. Is this a good deal for Berber?

I was thinking of just settling on a different carpet, but not really finding anything cheaper. Do you think almost $600 for install is good?

I would call multiple companies and get prices. Also, ask your builder if they would recommend someone.

There's nothing wrong with the quote as long as it fits into your budget. And labor will always be high. We recently carpeted an 860 sq. ft. basement for over $3000 but we opted for the top of the line pad and we had stairs. The labor is higher for stairs.

seems a little high. I had my entire home carpeted for $1400. It was a high quality berber in 1/2 of the house, and a shag in the rest.
