A controversy is raging in Israel, in evangelical circles in the U.S. and on kabbalah web forums worldwide following the posthumous release of what a revered Sephardic rabbi claimed to be the name of the Messiah.

When Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri died in February 2006, somewhere between the age of 106 and 117, 300,000 attended his funeral in Jerusalem.

Before Kaduri died, he reportedly wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note, requesting it remained sealed for one year after his death. The note revealed the name of the Messiah as "Yehoshua" or "Yeshua" – or the Hebrew name Jesus.
A few months before his death, Kaduri gave a Yom Kippur address in which he gave clues as to how to recognize the Messiah. He told those gathered for the Day of Atonement in his synagogue the Messiah would not come until former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon dies. Shortly after what Kaduri characterized as his Nov. 4, 2003, encounter with the Messiah, in which he said he learned his name, the rabbi said.

In September 2005 in a class at his Jerusalem yeshiva seminary, Kaduri called for Jews all over the world to return to Israel because of the calamities about to befall the Earth and for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.

"In the future, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will bring about great disasters in the countries of the world to sweeten the judgments of the land of Israel," he said.

Your information is correct. Rabbi Kaduri wrote that he did meet the Jewish Messiah on November 4th, 2004, in Jerusalem.
By the way, the word yeshua (sometimes used as a name) means salvation in Hebrew.

Hmmm? Very interesting.

Me thinks a fraud. I don't have the facts as to where the information truly came from but no one knows the day or hour.

Jesus did give his disciples insight on what things would be happening before or leading up to His return. Jesus said:

1. Be careful that no one deceives you for many will come in my name saying I am the Christ and will deceive many.

2. There will be wars and rumors of wars, these things must come to past, but the end is not yet

3. Nations will rise up against nations and kingdom against kingdom, and we will have famine, pestilences, and earthquakes in different places.

All these are the beginning of sorrows or the birthing pangs.
You will be hated by all for my sake. etc. etc. etc.

I do believe this story. I also believe that Yahushua is the messiah. However hearing that the rabbi met him in 2003 and the way he described him i belive that the one he met was pretending to be Yahushua because the way he describes him it sounds like the antichrist.

Do you have a source for this, besides some minister making it up?

It does seem true that he said this stuff. I guess it would mess with their heads.
