Jesus was the son of god but everyone seems hung up on him... what's the deal? I read all the time Jesus is God and stuff like that I often hear people say it alot. Calling him their lord and all.

If Jesus is god how is he his own father?

I guess I'm just doomed trying to apply logic to this...

Also, I've read the bible and not about to open that book again.

I'm a Christian, and I don't say Jesus is God - simply because he is not.
Jesus is the son of God. Jesus is our Lord and Savior, but not God Almighty.

Jesus is God because there is only 1 God, and only he could do things like accept worship, forgive sins, and promise salvation; all things Jesus did. Jesus is part of the trinity or tri-unity of God; he is 3 in person, 1 in essence.

Jesus is also extremely important because it is by his blood that we recieve grace through faith in him. This is why his teachings are so important, because God has left all judgment up to him on whether we followed him or not.

Jesus IS God too! He said so Himself. (John 10:30) "I and the Father are One"

There are three persons to the Holy Trinity which makes up God. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although there are three distinct persons they are all one God.

If we said that three persons equal 1 person then we would be involved in a contradiction in logic. However that is not what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches.

Christians believe that GOD consists of three PERSON, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God the same in substance and equal in power and glory.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins. (cf. Exodus 3:14)

And Thomas answered and said unto him (i.e. JESUS), MY LORD and MY GOD.

Because people don't interpret their Bible well. Jesus is the God of son and not God. In the Bible Jesus would pray to God when he was on Earth. Why pray to himself if he were God?

Well, mainly because Jesus claimed to be God.
He said, before Abraham and Moses, I AM..... implying that He existed before them, and calling himself "I AM" which is the Hebrew name for God. When the priests heard him say this, they tore their clothing as a sign of shock over blasphemy, cuz they KNEW he was claiming divinity. He also told his followers to baptize "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit"...another claim to deity. He also forgave people of their sin (only God can claim that in the Hebrew faith) and accepted worship from people.

So, either Jesus was a horrible lier (which wouldn't fit with his very moral lifestyle) or he was completely insane (which doesn't account for his extremely rational discussions and sermons and behavior) or he was telling the truth. Those are the only options.
Hope that helps.

Since the Holy Ghost created life in the womb of Mary, and the Spirit of God was able to manifest itself into man, being born of flesh, God was in Christ Jesus, and Jesus Christ was a fleshly part of God.
Because of Jesus Christ crucified, the Spirit of God was able to overcome death, [which up to that point, ( Because Adam and Eve)meant that when you died, you would forever be cut off from God, and his Kingdom, in which he made for us, before the Garden of Eden was even conceived.] And through that transition, the fleshly body we were given would no longer keep our spirits bound in the earth.
Christs image was the image of Gods Holy Spirit.
Only the outside appearance, that of Jesus Christ as man.
God made Christ Lord of us, and our Savior.
Jesus Christ is not God, but God is in him, and therefore, in us all.

Because we are stating the obvious.
(John 1:1, John 10:30, John 10 all of it, Revelation 1:8)

Not to mention the fact that only God can save us from our sins, and He became flesh, as Jesus Christ as John 1:1 says to die and then he rose again, defeating death, which only God can do.....
Jesus is indeed God, He is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. His Spirit lives in those who are saved.

He is a part of the trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Think of it like a three leaf clover...three leaves, one stem. Jesus was God in human form, his one and only BEGOTTEN son, a part of himself that God gave to die on the cross for our sins. The Holy Spirit is the part of God that dwells inside of us when we have accepted Jesus and God the Father is our creator whom waits for us to come to heaven to be with him.

There are numerous verses stating Jesus is God. I'm at work right now and don't have access.

The reason for the 'huff' is that some religions take the diety away from Christ. He is God.
