It should be:

Press "1" for English.

Press "2" to disconnect until you learn to speak English

I think he is just referring to times when it says to press 2 for espanol and you have to hang on the line to continue in English. This does only save mere seconds, however I agree that it can get annoying after awhile. As for learning another language, if the Spanish speaking people coming here to our country, would follow your same logic, we wouldn't need to have Spanish speaking services and bilingual signs everywhere. (last I checked, Spanish was not an official language of the US) I love hearing about people that have been in the country illegally for 10+ years and don't speak English. I even love getting stopped on the street or at home by someone asking if I speak Spanish.

Hey, as long as its 1 for English, I'm ok. But then there should also be a 3 for Cantonese, 4 for Mandarin, 5 for German, 6 for Italian, etc., etc....

Now, if it ever switched, and became 1 for Spanish, 2 for English, I'd have a canary!!!

Edit: Web L, Brain, whomever you are - We "white Americans" speak more than English. Trust me.

I am, but I guess we better get used to it since there is going to be amnesty for some 13 million illegals. This country is going straight down the drain. I can't believe I'm actually embarrassed to live in the US. maybe I'll move somewhere like Farmer's Branch to get away from this stuf and allow my kids to get a decent education and live in a decent environment.

What ever happened to a living person just saying "Hello"?

If I call a company to get information on a purchase and I get a "Press anything....", I hang up and call someone who wants my business bad enough to talk to me.

After the approval of that new Law you'll hear.
"presione dos si quiere asistencia inmediata", "press 2 if you need inmediat assistance" because obviously latinos work harder, faster and better.

Im sick of it. Its not a matter of being lazy, just so all of you know. Its a matter of PRINCIPLE. With all the rest of the bs going in this country. One example:The illegals demanding free stuff from our government. When is bush Going to start the Great Wall of Mexico? If it wasnt for them I wouldnt mind so much.

Yeah, why can't the rest of the world just speak English! Come on people, just press one and you won't even have to hear it! Or are you all that f--king lazy? Better yet, broaden your minds and learn another language! I am guessing that won't happen because you can't just take a pill that lets you speak another language.
