When parasailing on a lake, do you take off from shore or the boat? How does each work? It sounds dangerous to take off from shore.

You can do either but taking off from the boat is more controlled. When taking off from shore you HAVE to be in the air by the time you reach the water or you have a problem. If yu take off from the boat, the boat has an much time as needed to accelerate before you are launched. In both cases you're still winched to the boat. I recommend taking off from the boat just to ensure your own safety and avoid the hazzard of the environment on shore.

Good luck!
