Do you sin?
God says that we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) This means hell- and it is a real place. Because there is punishment for sin- God is Just, and Holy-- He cannot let sin into His kingdom.
This means that every one of us would be separated from God once we die, since we have sin, and God is holy and has no sin, He is pure and cannot be in the presence of sin. But God made a way for us to be with him-- through Jesus Christ--That is why Christ died and rose again, defeating death, so we who believe could be born again in Him, given a new heart, cleansed by His blood, and redeemed! When we confess our sins and believe in Him, repent of them-- we are saved, God grants us a new heart and new life-- and He opens our eyes to His truth through His wonderful word, the Holy Bible. So when we believe in Him, repent of sin, we are set free from sin and hell. Praise Jesus!

Yes, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Thank you for being a fellow "webvangelist!" Keep on shining the light of Jesus.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Receiving forgiveness for sin, placing our faith in Him PLUS being willing to "take up our cross daily and follow Him". Jesus repeats these words "follow Me" often, and the key is to be willing to do that day by day. This is why we call our faith a "walk", it is taken one step at a time.

Let us all continue to keep our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith.

Praise Him indeed.

It sound like you are saying you are perfect and sinless. Only God is without sin. We sin merely because we exist. I am asking forgiveness all day every day because I want to be ready. However, if someone sins and forgets to ask forgiveness right away (and they are a Christian) and gets in the car, has an accident and dies HE WILL STILL GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL? Because he had "unresolved sin". It says in the bible that "non are righteous - no not one" Jesus said "He who hath no sin, cast the first stone" Your post makes you sound really self-righteous. If God can't be in the presence of sin, why is he with us everywhere we go? If Jesus couldn't be in the presence of sin then why did he hang out with prostitutes, drunks, tax collectors, basically the sinners of society. Simply because he came not care for the well people (pharisees, "perfect people") he came to care for the sick and poor and down down troddened(you and me)

I do fall short at times, but I keep short accounts with God.
Man's greatest need is for forgiveness.

Nah. That would be an arbitrary way to set things up.

If god were god, he'd arrange it in a more moral and just way. And be a little above blood sacrifices.

I can understand this making sense to bronze age people tho.

Every time you write "this means..." you are just GUESSING what it means. If it was clear, you wouldn't have to explain it. You really do nt know, and most Christians disagree with each other what all that means. Do not take the word of your preacher what all this means - he does not know, either.
