i think it is natural for people to judge others. it doesn't make it right. but we do judge others.
and you are correct. what matters most is on the inside. but sometimes its takes us awhile to see what is on the inside because we are too busy judging the outside.

Yes i would. I think everybody has something beautiful about them. Might just be the inside or maybe just the outside. ( or both). But what doesn't look attractive to me, might be the most beautiful person in the world to someone else. So actually , everybody is beautiful or good looking. Everybody has a different taste. If everybody was the same, I think the world would be boring.

No , I think people are unique, I do not label people for what they look like or wear or what they have, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, Why should anyone, pick out someone and say they are ugly, That is childish something may be a child would do.You don't let nothing or nobody lower your self esteem ,Who are they to do it, You have to keep a high self esteem , Because if you don't then you lose your self worth alone with it. Everybody has a soul mate and To your soul mate you will be beautiful in His or her eyes no matter what you think, Or others think, so Keep your self esteem High for the day you meet your soul mate, And have the best self worth you can have, because with out it , you will lose control of your life because of what Others think..What hurt someone causes they will get the effect someday of what they have caused to others...I love all people I just don't love their ways...God Bless....

They are two different things.
when you see someone and say they are ugly, you are referring to there looks.
generally when people remark that a person is ugly, its in reference to that they are not attracted to that person. and by attracted i mean drawn in.
if you check out the word ugly in the dictionary ( ref: yahoo dictionary), the first explanation is:
1. Displeasing to the eye; unsightly.
if you know the person and they have a good personality, they may not seem as ugly, because you are attracted to their personality. the initial attraction occurs when you see someone (on looks), subconsciously make a judgment, you decide if you will interact (those that don't judge on looks interact, and those that do interact because they have to), when you interact, its their personality that further helps you decide if a person is truly ugly, but that person will still look the same on the outside.
sooo... it depends on which context the remark was placed.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've met people whom I thought were beautiful, yet after I had spent time with them, they began to look a little less attractive. I guess what I'm saying is that physical looks can only go so far. Real beauty comes from with in. You just have to be open minded enough to look for it. God Bless.

I agree that what matters is what is on the inside. A top model may be beautiful on the outside, but selfish and petty on the inside.
On the other hand look at Mother Theresa. She was not physically attractive, but was deeply loved for her compassion

I'm not at all ashamed about calling someone ugly. Some of the specimens that walk around my town.... *shudder*. Painful to look at. I would be and am friends with people who aren't too great looking, and I never let looks get in the way of a potential friendship, but sometimes, you just gotta call a spade a spade. Fugly is a term I use a lot. Also, in my experience, the truly fugly aren't beautiful inside - they are bitter and mean from years of being teased and treated like crap.

i like the point your trying to get across. but it dont work with some people. i believe the same way you do, but others choose differently. they look on whats on the outside.like some other guy, probably just got her into his bed, and kicked her out on the same night...he doesnt care.
some theif isnt looking at the face either. they want the purse.
not everyobody sees the same points of veiw, and some never will.
but its always nice too know that someone cares right?
oh yeah, and who wants surgery? thats not being yourself. plus not everyone has money. some are poor. some just dont care anymore.

Hmmmm. This is an interesting question. I think we all have some internalized preconceived standard of beauty. For me a standard of beauty contains more than physical characteristics. Intelligence is also important, as well as degree of maturity, integrity, and individual need for intervention necessitated because of physical and mental deficits. My supposition is that we are not all born equally. Situations occur that have resulted in members of our species who are born with needs that require serious intervention by capable people. Assistance will enable these developmentally disabled individuals to have opportunity to enjoy as many experiences possible that will enrich their lives. They are included my definition of standard of beauty.

Yes. Some people are ugly. There's no more point in denying that than there is in denying that some people are stupid.
That said, I don't go around pointing it out. In fact, ugliness serves a valuable purpose, in that it allows us to appreciate beauty.
No, it's not "fair" that some people are born beautiful and some are not. Nature is indifferent to man's idea of "fairness." The consolation, I suppose, is that beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder - there isn't really a single canon of beauty upon which everybody agrees (as much as marketers of cosmetics etc would like there to be, because it would streamline business).

Good genes?? what do you mean by that...being beautiful is not having good genes...living to 96 years is having good genes, being strong enough to have a healthy life are good genes, not being beautiful...Anyway, there is not ugly people, only people that don't take care of their appearance
