I don't know how anyone could favor spending taxpayers' hard earned money on people here illegally.

If illegals can just pay $5,000 to become legal, can AMERICAN CITIZENS pay the same $5,000 to renounce their citizenship and then get all the freebies?

Is that all it's worth anymore to be an American? Is that what our soldiers died for? A measly five grand?

Sorry - my flippant comments are borne out of extreme frustration.

Yes! They are ingrates! It's mostly Mexicans that we have the problem of Ill Imm with. While I am sympathetic and see much good in that culture, I also see tragic flaws. Why do you think they are up here looking for whatever? It's freebee's they're after. Otherwise they would come here legally and become citizens. It's plain as the nose on our faces people. We are simply too liberal and soft and mushy for our own goods. We have attracted these leech like, needee's and it is at least as much our fault as it is theirs. But all that can be changed. If we start sending them back, get ready for some major backlash from that segment as/before they go. If you don't believe this is a war or an invasion now, get ready for what will very likely happen ... a firestorm of payback from these people who we invited here to do work (looking the other way on the illegal thang) and now that the party is over, we will pay yet again. This aspect is TRULY what the politicians fear is on the horizon, I suspect. The irony of all this is that we are searching for Bin Laden and his ilk outside the USA. The enemy is here ...and it is within us.

This is SICKENING.

I don't understand how we, the American public, (REAL Americans, not the ILLEGALS) can sit and watch this amnesty bill go through. How are we being represented by our elected officials? WE'RE NOT!!! What ever happened to "No taxation without representation", we're paying taxes aren't we? (Not the illegals of course). Do you feel represented? I sure don't.

We're beyond needing a revolt and overthrowing our current government. There is nothing FOR THE PEOPLE about our current administration if they allow this. There are many starving, poor, and uninsured Americans who live in OUR country. Why not take care of them instead of the 12 million (or so) illegals?

THIS IS NOT THE UNITED STATES OF MEXICO!!!!! So climb your illegal rear back over the fence.

people are very rude regarding this subject. It seems to me that there is some strange fad that it's not cool to have kids if you are an american. Don't listen to them.

I'd like to ask every last one of you that are anti-breeder something.

Were you planned? Were your parents well off when they had you? Would you have rather if they weren't well off that they aborted you because you were an inconvenience on their checkbooks?

How do I feel about citizens getting turned down but illegals not? Outraged. People automatically assume that if you are american you can afford everything but here is what people don't get.

If you want care for your child or prenatal care while you are pregnant, clinics (if you are a citizen) refuse you if you don't have insurance. Try getting any service without insurance and insurance also won't cover pre-existing pregnancies so you can't just up and file for insurance and expect them to help you, it doesn't happen like that.

What is wrong is that our clinics and hospitals have grown so dependant on insurance companies that people who can't afford to be on insurance but continously get turned down by caseworkers for their own prejudice reasons don't get care.

Some people are out to abuse the welfare system. In that case, refuse them but I've seen cases thrown out without the caseworker reviewing bills and proof because that case worker didn't feel that any american deserved service.

I haven't met one single person born that was actually planned. NOT ONE. So get off your high horses about who is more worthy of being born.

Yep... that's how it works. I'm a stay at home Mom, too. Lots of people think its just being lazy, and not wanting to work, but the truth is, not everyone can afford day care if you have more than one. For me, my paycheck was the same as the cost of daycare for my 2 kids. So I'm raising them, instead of paying someone else.

Check your state - mine (PA) has insurance available for all kids, regardless of income, social situation, etc. I'm not sure of the details, as we're covered through my husbands' employer. But there are some programs out there.

I love these morons above that suggest your getting a job is the answer and witlessly ignoring your specific question.

PROVIDING ILLEGALS WITH FREE SOCIAL SERVICES IS BLEEDING THIS GREAT NATION DRY.

I honestly sympathize with the plight of those that illegally invade the US yet also wonder why they and their supporters think they have the "right" to Social Services they contribute absolute nothing to. I also wonder why they don't have the wherewithal or gumption to ban together like they did here and demand fairness IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

It's a little ironic, but so is a lot of legislation the country passes. However, if someone came to my door asking for food-especially if it was a child- my first question wouldn't be "Are you illegal."

Only slightly more annoyed than I am about legals or citizens getting 'social services' on the taxpayers' tab.

what I would like to know is how is it they have the authority to receive such benefits?! who gave them the authority?

Here in Texas your children would automatically get health insurance...No child left behind....
