It is only a source of hatred for those that HATE God and don't want him to rule over them.. Even you will figure it out in the end..
Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

The book "Little Black Sambo" has been all but banned in a stunning show of censorship because it supposedly promoted hatred.
If you do not know the book it was about a little black boy who tricked a tiger into chasing itself around a tree until it turned into butter. The the little boy took the tiger-butter and used it on pancakes. I always thought the kid was pretty smart, but, some people felt that it meant "black people like pancakes" so it has been all but banned from publication.
Also, I guess the book was so popular that a lot of people started using "Sambo" as a derogatory term for black people, which I never understood, again, because I thought the kid was pretty clever.
If people can decide a book about a clever little boy is racist and hate speech they can decide anything is racist and hate speech.
It would not surprise me if Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a dream" qualifies as hate speech someday.
So yes, I think some things on politics and religion should be protected from being banned. Otherwise the ignorant, closed minded, Inquisitonist censors will come back in style banning everything they don't like at the moment.
Kind of like you want to.

I disagree with censorship in all forms--period. Whether it be the Bible, Huckleberry Finn or The Necronomicon.
As far as trying to outlaw hate speech...good luck. Just because you outlaw something doesn't mean that it's going to go away. In many cases, just the opposite happens.
Furthermore, you'll never get rid of hate, even if you can get people to stop talking about it. Besides, who determines what "hate speech" is, anyways? Sooner or later--if a law like that passes the first time--it will be expanded to cover anything that a group may disagree with.
Unfortunately, much of the hate speech and intolerance in the Bible--or any other religious work--is as often a result of interpretation by either the members of whichever sect is involved or those that "want" to be offended by something. Calling it hate speech is as much a form of ignorance and intolerance--of the society in which the book itself was created-- as anything that appears in the work itself.
If they want to illegalize hate speech, then they should start with the word "offended."

The Bible don't preach hate or promote hate. We are a nation now that thinks The Bible is based on hatred. Sorry to offend you but, Truth hurts.

Because your laws forbid ministers from preaching against homosexuality. No matter what your laws say, the laws of the government do not alter God's laws. I have no problem if the government does not enforce God's laws, God will ultimately do that, but the government should not endorse sinful practices. I think this is why so many Christians fear gay marriage, because if gay marriage is endorsed then our duty to resist sin will be labeled hate speech or discrimination. If you guaranteed that Christians could preach homosexuality as a sin all they want, then I would not oppose gay marriage. Just let us believe homosexuality is wrong and I'll let anyone consider themselves "married". But if being married means we could not consider homosexuality sinful, then I oppose it. And of course I already have no problem with protecting homosexuals from physical attacks, no matter how sinful we think someone is in their private life we do not have any authority to punish people's sin as Christians.
Oh, another thing.... Ensure that the Christian churches can refuse anyone from getting married they want. This is another issue. If gay marriage is totally endorsed by the government, and Christian churches are unwilling to sanction the wedding, the government cannot label it discrimination or hate speech or whatever. You cannot make us endorse homosexuality. So long as you guarantee that we can preach against it all we want (without acting physically against anyone) then I have no problem what you do or "endorse"

Well I believe freedom of speech is so important. People are allowed to have different opinions, even hateful ones, but the government should stay out of people's lives as much as possible. I feel sorry for you in Canada. Your freedoms are being taken away. I guess that is happening in the USA too because of political correctness. Freedom of religion is allowed here also, so I don't think anyone should be permitted to mess with what many people feel is The Word of God.
God Bless.

Please quote to me even 1 passage from the bible that promotes hatred. I don't believe you'll find any.
To censore the Bible would be to violate one's right to free speech and freedom of religion. Not to mention against the word of God Himself, because the Bible does say not to censore, omit, or add to the Bible.

You can censor anything you want, that does not mean the words in the Bible will change. If you read the bible and get a true understanding of it you will see why God hates certain things.

I don't believe the bible is a source of hatred. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to heaven.Does that make it a source of hatred?Any kind of censorship should be opposed in a free society.

Some people claim that the Bible promotes hatred because they disagree with what it says. The PC police are always trying to censor ideas that they disagree with.
