haven't personaly done it. But i do know someone that has. All the major cruise ships do have babysitting services, and they are rated pretty high.
People bring children on cruises all the time, but at only 18 months, I think you may be a little restricted on what you'll be able to do. But there are so many things to do, I'm sure you'll be plenty busy & have tons of fun, even with a little one.

Yes...change your plans.
No offense as I'm sure you are a wonderful mother, but you will have a much better time without the child. It's too young to remember any of this (adults don't remember much before 5 years old), ships are not set up as good day care centers, and taking a cruise is really an adult activity. You would be much better off making this a second honeymoon and reconecting with your husband. Instead the two of you will be caring for a child most of the time and worring about it the rest.
Good luck either way

Check with the cruise line about kid's programs and sitters. Different lines will have different options available.
You can always get a bigger room, but you'll pay for it. Check the ads and brochures from each cruise line closely. They all say they have spacious rooms, but they're very good at making the ad make the room look bigger than they really are.
A lot will depend on how well your kid reacts in a new environment. You'll be on a trip with a lot of people who have spent a fair amount of money to be here for a special trip. If you have a fussy baby, or one that cries a lot, you'll get lots of looks. If your baby doesn't like new foods, you may have problems getting things that he/she will eat. It's not impossible to do, but know going in that you may have to deal with a toddler that's cranky for a week, that you'll have to watch extra closely, and unless you make arrangements with your spouse, you may have to babysit them 24/7 for the entire cruise.

I have a 3month old and I think we are going to wait until he is older to take him on the cruise. I hear you pay for the babysitting services and I am not sure if they are that great

My best advice would be to leave the little one at home with family. He/she isn't going to enjoy nor remember the cruise one bit, you are going to spend all your time when you should be relaxing taking care of the kid, and you are deminishing the relaxation time and experience of the other people on the cruise around you. There's no real reason to take the child with you, unless you absolutely cannot find suitable care for him/her while you are gone.

I would not advise spending a lot of money on a cruise and then taking a young toddler. You wont be able to enjoy the cruise enough to get your moneys worth. but yeah there are lots of services availabel check with your travel agent and ask specific questions about the boat you are concidering.
