You can make an image of what you have now if you have a spare hard drive or writable DVD to send the image files to. Then if the computer hoses, you can drop the image on the main partition and be good as new. You should make a bootable BARTPE disk (do a google search) with Windows XP with this program on it, so you can restore your computer.

you have to do a backup of your drivers separately, driverguide.com has a driver backup utility

to backup windows, you need to backup the entire partition,
I'd suggest using acronis:

you can also use Windows PE (bartpe), or nlite to create a bootable windows XP cd.

Then you have to add the drivers manually as windows asks for the driver location. driverguide will put all your drivers in 1 folder that you can tell windows to search for the driver files.

You can make an image of your hard drive and copy that image on to another external or internal hard drive. Basically, you will be backing up your entire hard drive. You will need a software program to create an image and another hard drive to copy the image to. You can use the free hard drive backup tool, HDClone Free Edition (http://www.majorgeeks.com/HDClone_Free_Edition_d3809.html).

Creating an image of your hard drive is the easiest method, saving all 3 component is one single operation. Otherwise, you would have to save all 3 components separately. You can create a bootable backup of Windows with the free Bart PE (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/). You can create a backup of your drivers with the free WinDrivers Backup (http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/files/wdb.zip). You would have to manually save all your software programs.
