You'll need:

-A wire harness adapter for your vehicle
-Some method of connecting the adapter harness to the Kenwood harness: solder and tape, or crimp connectors and a crimping tool. Don't use wire nuts.
-Radio removal tools to pull the Ford radio out.

Depending on the type of Ford audio system your Thunderbird has, there's more than one type of wire harness that may be used for it. Your best bet is to pull out the Ford radio and take it along when you buy the harness.

You do not need a mounting kit to install a new CD player in that vehicle.

You'll need a wiring harness to avoid splicing the factory wiring harness. Go to this site for a step by step guideline , pic's, videos and more.
