Hi, I am an opera singer about to produce my first CD. I will be walking around NYC sometime in the next two weeks to take pictures of me in my pretty dress for the cover of the CD. I am not from NYC but have visited many times. Any suggestions of where I could have the shots taken? The CD is religious in theme, but it doesn't have to be at a religious setting - big churches are out because of lighting issues. I am thinking stone structures and flowers, outdoors or indoors - either is fine. Suggestions?? Thanks!

If you are an opera singer, you should try the plaza at Lincoln Center. The fountain & the Opera house would be a great background.

I also agree that the Cloisters would be great, but it is not a place you can just walk to.

In Central Park, walk a little further uptown to the Conservatory Gardens - around 105th Street.

If you want a skyline view - Top of The Rock has the best panoramic shot in the city.

Riverside Park - has both lots of stone walkways/bridges/garden paths as well as great views of the Hudson River.

In Central Park, there are these fantastical looking trees. The branches are very curvy and twisty. This one area I've seen was beside a statue of William Shakespeare, it's close to Central Park West and Fifth Avenue. They're beautiful. Another place in central park would be just outside the Sheep Meadow. It is this long straight stone road with trees all around it and benches on the sides. I think it might have been in a movie. Also, I think it might be cool to get a picture of you getting a charicature of yourself done by one of the vendors in the park. You know like just showing you sitting there in the background and the guy drawing you singing.

The Upper West Side, 72nd Street and Broadway. It's right next to the legendary Ansoina Hotel and Verdi Park. Also there is an old fashioned kiosk at the tops of the subway steps. The architecture in that area of Manhattan is spectacular.

Battery Park City has great parks with lovely flowers and gardens, especially at this time of the year. If youre looking for the type of NYC they show in commercials and whatnot for that kind of industrial-city look, check out Tribeca, especially Staple Street (they have a skybridge that looks really cool)

In Central Park ....maybe a picture of you standing on the Bow Bridge on The Lake....thats such a beautiful spot right there....theres people going by in rowboats.. romantic..maybe get some rose petals and put them on the bridge..

Its so pretty there, I felt like I was in Europe, like Paris..

Another gorgeous spot in C.Park was the Bethesda Fountain and Terrace...probably could get a great pic by the fountain.

The whole park is just beautiful [Cant wait to see it again.]

Fulton Ferry Park in Brooklyn. Adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge and beautiful views of the bridge and Lower Manhattan. See link below.
