They show people from all nationalities, walks of life and monetary backgrounds who are itching to meet up with these young boys and girls. Some of them drive for HOURS! Is it really that bad or are the numbers of men doing it blown out of proportion on the show?

if you put out a mousetrap, you'll find dozens of mice that you never saw before!

the show serves a purpose, and every potential predator off the streets and behind bars does increase the level of public safety. but the network also concentrates on locating and capturing these people, and it puts its significant financial resources (not to mention the time involved) toward this end. also, it only brings us the successes, what about the failures? (no-shows, mistakes, etc.)

so yes, it SEEMS like there are so many of these people out there because that's what the show illustrates. good for you to notice that the ratio among the general public isn't as high as the program suggests.

No, they are really out there. The internet has made every fantasy attainable and seemingly anonymous, since you just hide behind a screen name. The bad thing is, the guys on this show are not even the worst it can get. The pervs lurking around the playgrounds or the ones looking for younger kids on the internet are what really scares me. Those are the dangerous sickos. They need to target those guys who perpetuate the cycle of pedophilia by victimizing those who can't speak for themselves.

I suppose as the show focuses on this type of person, it will give a skewed view of the number. The only way to know for sure is from the number recorded, but of course this ignores those who are never caught. And, I'm not sure it s the number of them but their ability to move around. A few can do a lot of harm using the Internet and the ability to travel great distances due to the transportation system.

Is that a serious question? There are waaaay more pedophiles out there than that. They only show the ones that are about to get caught, not including the guys that have been caught and are in jail and the ones that are still doing it and haven't been caught yet.... it's a sick world...

There are more than they show, if you really want to get scared look up sex offenders by zip code and see how many convicted ones are in your neighborhood, I have a hard time letting my kids go out to play anymore.

Yep there sure are! They need to do an episode to try to catch women if there are even any that will stoop that low which I very seriously doubt.
