Help with Italian..please?

Question

How would you say in Italian : " My nephew and my grandson,
my niece and my granddaughter."

please state which is which.

So il nipote means grandson and nephew, so what happens if you wish to say..'My nephew and grandson are sitting together'.
how would you know that they weren't two grandsons or two nephews?
how do you tell the difference?

There's no difference in Italian to translate my nephew and my grandson (both are " mio nipote").
Also my niece and my granddaughter are both translated as
"mia nipote".

"il mio nipote" e "la mia nipote" are rarely used since in presence of the possessive adjective article can be omitted.

The only one way to distinguish if the "nipote" is of the uncle or of the grandfather is to state who you are and hence:
Sono il nonno di... ? I'm the grandfather of ...
Sono lo zio di ....? I'm the uncle of....

my nephew = mio nipote
my niece = mia nipote
my grandson, my granddaughter = just the same as above (yes, we use the same words for both)

As for the article... actually is generally not used: "My nephew will have dinner at home, tonight" = "Mio nipote cenerà a casa, stasera"

"Il mio nipote" is used in some specific sentences, like: "Giovanni è il mio nipote preferito", "Giovanni is my pet nephew"; "Francesca è la mia nipote più giovane", "Francesca is my younger niece"; so the article is generally used when comparing a niece, nephew to the other ones.

You can't tell the difference, you have to tell it :)
I mean, if you for instance want to specify a "nipote" is the son of your brother, you have to tell he is the son of your brother; or tell you are "lo zio", "the uncle".
