I hate it. My husband's deployed and I want him home to see our first child being born...but he won't be here until she's at least 8 months old. I'm in the Army and I never want to be deployed to fight in a war I don't believe in. My battalion commander, during formation, said, "We're in the middle of a civil war we can do nothing about." Even he knows its pointelss for us to be there...but Bush is an idiot and we have to go where we're told.

Well coming from a Canadian/American (Mother is American I was born in Canada), it is the biggest disaster in U.S. history. It is ranking up there with Vietnam. There is no winning the Iraq War because you truly do not have one cooperating enemy. There are thousands of little sects that you are going against who for the most part don't communicate between each other. Everyone knows the only reason this war occured is due to the oil. Do you see the U.S. going into Africa to get rid of "terrorists"? There are just as many there but they don't have the oil that Iraq has so there is really no reason to stick your head in there nightmare. All the pro-Iraq war people love to talk about patriotism while they sit in their comfy homes in the U.S. If they had to see all the attrocities over there they would have the complete opposite feelings and demand that this war be stopped.

Is the Senate on vacation today again? The faux news we agree over immigration? The law was not passed? Who get 's the fine moneys??? What if they can't pay? Another House writes another bill. I am behind Ted Kennedy on this one but how long can he last?
The war in Iraq is on hold for political rallies, personal agenda and private jet travel
Meanwhile our soldiers die. ABC New crew, 2 dead as well. No holiday in Baghdad.
I believe our troops refreshed need to be in the region. If Iraq leaders take two months off as they told VP Cheney we should pull out immediately. I also believe we need not know military stragedy. What ? Set us up for assaults further?
Move yes closer to the Gulf. My opinions thanks for listening.

An incredibly bad tactical blunder, fought under bs reasons too,so hypocritical, its created more terrorists and hatred too. Its also an obvious no win situation, the troops cant stay there forever. The only good that comes out of it is that some muslim extremists get killed too, overall a bad military move, yankees should have just bombed the crap out of the place from the air as usual.Or maybe they could actually stop bombing places and invading countries ,hmmm now theres an amazing thought.

Is that a serious question? The answer could go on forever! Just my quick opinion... my husband is in the Army, has now been to Iraq twice amongst other tours to various places and deployments... IT SUCKS!! And alot of soldiers will tell you the same. Nothing is changing and we are getting no where. I FULLY support our troops, they are doing their job... what they are "told" to do, however the Bush administration needs to spend a few months over there like our guys are and see that nothing is being accomplished, it's only getting worse and we are losing DAMN good American lives for his STUPIDITY!!

Ok... I'm done, thanks for letting me vent! :)

Well ex-navy here, been there and worked hard. It seems never ending and that what i have a problem with. I went in to serve this country and when i got out it still need more serving. that's rough. Now we don't know when to say enough. I"ve lost a lot of friends. but not as many as my uncles who went Vietnam, or any other war for this country.

The true thing of all of this,
There are only Two type of people who have died for us.
Our Soldiers for our freedom
Jesus for your soul.

It is a huge mistake that Bush and Cheney will never admit.
And this winning at all cost mentality is all fine and good until you realize that the "cost", is the lives of our soldiers.
Bush would gladly sacrifice another 5000 american lives in order to say "We Won", but the outcome isn't worth the cost, and we will have to stay there forever.
Bring the troops home now. I can deal with defeat easier than I can deal with more dead troops.

Get the press out and the war will be over in a week. If Russia or China started the war, it would have been over years ago. Alot of people would have needlessly been killed,as has happened in reality, but it would be over and won. The world would denounce Russia or China, but 2 days later it would be forgotten.

I call this war, "Vietnam part 2"

it may be a different country, but it's being handled exactly like Vietnam was.
