Why? I mean I have tattoos and why do you want your last name permanently emblazoned on your body? So they can identify you if you meet with ill fate? Buy a sports jersey and have your last name put on it. If you are serious about a tattoo, can you not come up with something else meaningful to you??? I know I know thumbs down, don't really care, I'm just being honest, not mean.

People have already for the most part said my thoughts, but what the heck...I personally am not a fan of the last name on the back tattoo. When I see people with it, I actually honestly think that he/she must be in a gang...probably stereotypical and close minded, but I am just being honest. I think there is something else you can probably get that really means something to you. The Old English Letters is a cool idea though.

I would say on your upper back or curved on your stomach like where your abs are, if you have nice abs. I don't know how it would look on the front on your chest. It is probably best to put it there if you already have a lot of tattoos, you know?

You know i kinda Have to agree Why your last name why not a dragon or a tiger hell even some tribal (YOUR NAME SERIOUSLY) well to each their own I guess but as one of the other posters stated unless backwards and reversed it is no use to u and look at it this way if you ever rob a bank topless they will at least know your last name LOL

my bf has a tattoo of his last name in old english lettering going down his spine not across his back --it looks cool but it was time consuming and painful--i dont know how many letters your last name is but his is 9--
my cousin has his down his inside forearm--so its definitely not a bad idea...
just dont get your first name...thats dumb

I think that tattoo is played out. Too many people do that. Come up with something original and you will like it way more in the future. Maybe if you incorporate your name into some type of design (tribal would be nice).

I put my initials on my arm and the only thing i got out of it was people asking me if that was to help me remember my name. I wish I would not have done it. Because now that I am older it does look weird. I dont need help remembering my name and I am not obsessed with myself or my name but it sure makes me look like it.
My advice is once you do it it is there forever and I bet you will hate it after awhile unless you are obsessed with yourself and your name or you do forget your name. then do it

Well remember this is a tatoo ur talking about so its gonna be there forever...you wanna get sumthing meaningful...so if u want your last name then ok....also it depends what your last name is..if you like it...it really all depends on what you want ,its your choice...but im betting it will look cool if you do decide to get it...

My only comment......If you ever get amnesia then you will know who you are. You DO know that you're not going to be able to read it unless you get it done in reverse and backwards so you can read it in the mirror........of course then no one else will be able to read it.
