If you're installing new speakers, you're usually better off not using the factory amp. As for where it's located, we need to know what kind of vehicle you have to answer.

IT CAN BE DONE WITH THE RIGHT HOOK UP. THE FACTORY AMP SHOULD BE EATHER IN THE TRUNK UNDER THE CARPET OF UNDER THE DASH. U SHOULDENT HAVE TO WORK ON THE AMP THOUGH.

factory amps have different ohms than aftermaket amps..fords 3.2 ohms...gms 6-8 ohms..dodges 10 ohms .... best use aftermarket amps
