This would be why all scientific studies start with a theory. part of that theory is that there must be room to be proven wrong. OK, so if there is a theory out there (which is all of them) that is waiting to be prooven wrong, and there is always new research and experiments, why would so many people believe science when it comes to the importance of humankind? Gay people are just that, Gay. I do not know if they are born that way, nurtured to much, abused, or just tired of stereotypical people always putting a label on someone, and quite frankly it is not for me to judge or anyone else. I do not condone it, God does not condone it, but I certainly do not think I have the right or the intelligence to try to label anyone.

To capitalctu: Identical twins don't prove anything. They only have the same genes, which only go so far in the development of any organism. The environment in which the organism develops (the womb, later the food, the upbringing) can make quite a difference.
In the soccer team that I coached last year, was a pair of identical twins. One of them needs glasses and the other doesn't. I don't know why this his. Maybe as fetuses one kicked the other in the face or something. But by your logic, this would mean the one with glasses chose to be near-sighted.

Actually there are some indicators. Geneticists were doing a study on fruit flys. They were attempting to narrow the gene that causes a fruit fly to be an albino. However all the fruit fly's injected with this gene came out chasing male tail. This study was repeated many times with the same results. I know the gene set for a fruit fly is much more simplistic but it is still a strong indicator.

No there really isn't. People anxious for answers or acceptance have jumped on the bandwagon of inconclusive and incomplete studies and loudly and persistently proclaimed scientific backing for it.
We (humans) are complicated entities. We are a product of much more than some DNA cells.
One important thing about us, however is the fact that we have free will. We CAN choose our course of action even if it goes against our natural inclination. (Genesis 8:21, Jeremiah 17:9)

Well actually some proof shows that they are not born gay, Its has to do with something that happens when they are a kid, Like the friendships they have with the same sex gets distorted, Its a psychological thing.

How do come clean on a subject when it's so intricate you can barely get your hands dirty, scratching at the surface of the issue?

I'm pretty sure when someone is growing up and most of his/her friends are showing their attraction for the opposite sex, they don't make a conscience decision to be different and force themselves to be attracted to the same sex.

If there is, then I have proof it is a choice. I know personally a set of identical twins. One is actively a lesbian. Her twin sister (identical, remember) is hapily married with 3 daughters of her own. And the one who is a practicing lesbian was engaged to 2 men before she made her choice - and the 1st groom-to-be was the one to call it off.
EDIT: Why all the thumbs down? This is proof of the choice, and there is nothing derrogatory in my comments. Benoit - were your twins identical? It would seem to be that they either were not or the one with glasses had something happen to them in childhood (perhaps too much soap in teh eyes, which happens). Your logic doesn't hold...

Is there any proof that people are born straight.
What's your point? Are you trying to make a homophobic point or are you trying to show your ignorance of normal human variation?
Homosexuality is a normal human variation, just as height or IQ varies so human sexual orientation varies... we cannot choose to be taller than our potential height, we cannot choose to be more intelligent than our potential IQ and we cannot change our sexual orientation.
It is almost universally accepted now that potential human sexuality straight or gay is fixed if not at birth then very early in infancy, it is not a choice.

Genetics is a very comlicated thing
This is my very official study. I never decided I like boys. I just did. I never thought about it in the least. Did you? Did you wake up one day and say Ok, I like boys/girls.
I doubt they did either. And really even if they did..who cares? Feed a hungry kid or something actually worthwhile.
