We've had this planned for quite a while now, my friend Gretchen and I are going to a flea market this weekend. The downside is my babysitter just had a situation for school that came up for the weekend and nobody else is free. Should I just take him, he's never been to one

I wouldn't take MY two-year-old to a flea market, he's a monkey! He can escape any seatbelt and climb anything. A flea market would be too much opportunity for mayhem! My four-yr-old could have gone at 2, he is such a calm boy. I say unless your 2-yr-old is a monkey, grab the stroller, some snacks and a tippy cup and head out. He'll have fun, there's so much to see!

I would. When my girls were younger we used to go to flea markets all the time. However, I would keep an eye on him since he is two and may break something and you have to buy. Also make sure you have a way to block him from the sun if you plan to be out all day. Sometimes when we went to flea markets, I picked the hottest days of the year.

Why not? I t could be a cool learning experience for both of you. Take a stroller, stuff for him to drink, snack on and play with, and have some fun with him. My son who is 4 and my daughter who will 1 next month have been just everywhere. My boy learned to walk while my husband and I went to auctions and estate sales. Yes, I have an addiction! Just keep in your mind about nap time, and if it gets uncomfortable for him, he will let you know. One way or another you will know when he is done. Thats when you have to decide if you want it to be a bad experience or a good one. If you drag him around crying because he is tired or just done with it, then it will suck for all invovled. But if you just kind of go with it, and your friend is cool about it, then you can have a great time, and really get to hang out with your son. My son now, can spot a yard sale sign a mile away.

Better take a stroller with you with a top so the sun don't shine right on him. Take some finger food and plenty of liquids too. I love flea markets ! Hope you all enjoy the day.

We took our son to a flea market when he was 10 months old. He was fascinated by all the colors and sounds around him. Just make sure to keep an eye on him... he is able to mix in the crowd easily and get lost.

if the 2 year old is a member of the family and going to the flea market will be an on going interest for you, make it a family activity so that he can be exposed to the world as a member of a guarded group.

Sure, why not. Just keep an eye on him as there are many ways a two-year old could wander away at a flea market.

As long as you can keep him in the stroller. Bring toys he can play with and some of his favorite snacks. You might even get him involved in the shopping. But don't expect him to cooperate for more than a couple of hours.

Why wouldn't you take him. You can't expect him to learn how to act in a situation if you don't let him have the experince. Pack snacks and drinks, a few toys that he likes, diapers, and load that stroller and have fun! My little guy loves these outings-so much to see and do.
