Watch the following movies for ideas: "The Time Machine" and "Back to the Future."
Don't forget to include a "flux capacitor." :)

...there was one for sell on eBay last year...maybe there are more.
Why make it if you can buy it? Or, if it ends up costing too much, just have your brother bring in a clock. Technically, its a time machine, right?
