I don know what went wrong... My system was just normal, i was jus surfing through the internet ( disabling the antivirus)... But i had the Firewall turned on... I restarted the computer, and my computer is now hanging at the Windows Logo....I tried with the Safe mode, last known good configuration,,, No go... any idea(other than formatting the C drive?)

Format should be a last resort. If your Win XP has been damaged, try this:

After the repair, immediately scan for virus preferably twice w/ different anti-virus.
Next time, when surfing the net, anti-virus, anti-spyware and a registry guard like WinPatrol should ALWAYS be turned ON.

Sorry, looks as though your xp files are corrupt. Take it to a technician this is a fairly serious problem, happened to me once but it was my motherboard that was stuffed, had to get a new one.

watch the boot screen very carefully and you might see something that says corrupt boot.ini file or something similar.

Repair with Windows disk and replace the file.

taking the pc to a computer shop so they can take the files you want then re format it. if safe node doesn't work i think your stuffed

Boot from the WindowsXP installation CD, and choose REPAIR INSTALL.

After you pay someone to devirus and straighten out your system, LEAVE THE STUPID ANTIVIRUS ACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
