Yes because alcohol damages your liver, and if your liver is not working as it should then your life expectancy is going to be affected.

Yep. DEFINITELY will make their life shorter, because of two things:

1. Alcohol kills brain cells. The more you drink, the more brain cells you lose. No brain, no life.

2. Alcohol damages your liver. No liver, no life.

That doesn't factor in the increased chances that the idiot drinking half a bottle of vodka a day will do something stupid like drive into a tree or fall out a window. I feel sorry for a 20-year old that lives their life this way. Must not have much of a life if drinking is all he does.

How big is the bottle of vodka?
Alcohol is eliminated through the liver. Certain substances such as drugs or alcohol are somewhat toxic to the human body. They require the liver to work extra hard to filter them out of our system. If the liver has to work harder, then it would probably wear out or become diseased faster than a liver that doesn't have to filter out as many impurities. I believe this could shorten the life span of an individual.
So, in short, yes. This person would have a shorter life span than someone that doesn't drink. This person would be unlikely to die of lung cancer though!

alcoholic thats what that is,and yes it will harm you.now you can drink a glass of wine aday and its good for you, but thats a glass, not a bottle.if you drink half a bottle of vodka a day it could end up doing nothing for you after a while, then you would start drink a whole bottle a day. and after so many years of this you could get liver disease and die..drinking half a bottle every once in a while wont really harm you too much. but doing it everyday will.

Alcohol according to MRI studies lowers the activity of many areas of the brain, deprives body organs and tissues of nutrients, etc. That is why people who drink look 20 or more years older.
