Why are we humans always trying to be perfect. Who is it that perfect being we compare ourselves to, or what is that perfect state we are trying to attain?

There must be perfection. If there's no perfection , then how come we feel it, and try to manifest it everday? Some people manifest it throught art (Da Vinci), others through love (Romeo & Juliet), others through deep worshiping (Saints), and others through altruism and self giving (Mother Teresa).

Where did the term "perfect"come from?
Is it something that has always existed, or a concept that evolved with the progress human intellect?

Do you think we are worshippers of perfection? Is God only an imaginary being who embodies and represents this perfection?

Too many questions, sorry I know, but you got the message. Try to give one answer.

God is perfect, and He not only made us in His image, He told us to try to be more like Him. So we try. It will never happen, because we are flawed from the first couple of us, but we try anyway to be closer to Him. It started with Adam and Eve getting kicked out of the garden. Ever since then we try to get back to where we started. Perfection is unatainable, it's the journey towards the goal that makes us better people.

This is exactly what the problem with humanity is in this modern age, we try to be God and be perfect.

Why don't folks get this? It's so easy to understand ... God knows we are imperfect and He doesn't care! We say we are unworthy to even stand in His presence and He says "Yeah, I know, but take My hand and lets walk awhile anyway".

I stopped trying to be perfect long ago, and now I let God lead the walk ... I wind up being more like Him, but I also know I can never ever BE Him.

To give whatever name to perfection we should be first able to understand and recognize perfection. But to do so we must be perfect - else how could you tell perfection when you see it? So we can't give any name to perfection because we know **** about it.

People who believe god is perfect have a strange perception of what perfect is.

Either that or they're afraid to admit he isn't.

Hmmm.... seems like there is some kind of standard that no one can explain... If no God, why try to be anything at all?

Perfection is one of God's qualities, but we worship Him, not his attributes (perfection, love, goodness, etc.).

God isn't a proper name. Like President, it too is a title.
Jehovah is God's proper name.
