Yes I have experienced this and an old saying in the south was that when this happened a witch or the devil was riding you. This is the scariest crap, you can't move, scream, nothing, just wait until it is over and then you gasp for air and thank God that it is over. God Bless.

Well, I think people will come up with many explanations for things they don't or don't want to understand. When I was living at my stepdad's (ex stepdad) in high school, some things like that used to happen to my sister and me. I could see shadows swarming around the room, and my heart would race. It was petrifying at first...but thankfully I was raised in a Christian home, so I knew to rebuke spirits in Jesus name, especially a spirit of fear. I wasn't a believer at the time, but quite a few unexplainable experiences like that sure made me one. You might like to get the book Piercing The Darkness or This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti, both fiction, but they do open up a whole new perspective on things.

yes i did...first time was when i was about 19....it was weird....the next time it happened i was 37....but i had only just gotten into bed, i put my hands behind my head....and looked up at the ceiling....then i felt myself sinking into the bed and then i felt hands all over me from my shoulders down to my ankles....the strange thing was i couldn't move...i could move my eyes.....they where open....my wife was next to me and i noticed something strange...i could tell if it was a left hand or a right hand...i knew where the thumbs where....i soon realised that there where hands holding me on both sides....in other words there where 4 people {if that's what they where one, way or another} standing on one side of me and 4 on the other side....i noticed this by the placement of the hands {from thumb to little finger....nobody was leaning over to hold me....there where 4 on each side....i wasn't afraid....even though the grip was firm...it didn't hurt....it lasted for about 90 seconds....but it will stay with me forever......not because i am afraid....but because i noticed too much about it to ever forget it.....i don't believe in sleep paralysis.....not when you are awake with your eyes open and looking around the place.....when it was over i sat up .....anyway don't worry about it.....its just one of the many unanswered things that surround us....all the best

Yes, it's called Sleep Paralysis, it's very common. I think a lot of people associate it with ghosts and the more they think that, the scarier the situation becomes. You should look into Sleep Paralysis on the web. Good luck.

Yes it's happened to me a few times but not recently.
I thought it may have been a spirit while it was happening,
Although in the morning and when up, thought it may have been I was very tired and thought I was awake but maybe still asleep and not fully awake.
It's scary when it happens

It has never happened to me but older relatives have told me that, yes, it is a spirit. And they explained it exactly like you said "it feels like something is holding you down and you can't move and when you try to open your mouth to scream no sound comes out". That's scary!!!

YES I have had that experience, and it is a spirit and you must just relax, and pray, that is normally an evil spirit that does that to you

Yes, I have had this happen throughout my lifetime. It's not a spirit but it is related to where you are within your sleeping pattern. This happens to people who are on medication at times.
