Everything I have read, all the reports have "maybe", "could be" "perhaps" "possibly caused by" . IMHO I think it is just a natural change the Earth is going thru, man may hurt a bit, but not that much. Sounds like scientists looking for funding til they retire to me.

Didn't they also blame CO2 for the coming ice age. Good point there.

Remember that all predictions, good and bad, are based on computer models that are, at best, a SWAG. Computer models cannot hope to achieve the complexity of the actual global climate and are based on assumptions that will always bias the results towards the desired results of the person running them.
While global warming may be, in fact, happening, scientists are no more able to predict the future course of the trend than they are to predict the day you're going to die. The responsible thing to do is to take care of the environment because it is the right thing to do and not jump to wild conclusions and attempt to "solve" the global warming problem without having a good idea if the solution is worse than the problem itself.

The problem is you're working with a global perspective. The world is huge, the calculations are huge.
Point is, we're supposed to be heading into another ice age, slowly, but we're warming up, there's a problem there, we've stopped the ice age.
Man will hurt a lot from this, but I'm sure you know that.
The sad thing is, those that can do the most, are often the ones that shirk off responsibility. The rich Western nations do the least even though they can do the most, while the poor nations will fare the worst and even though they try to do the best, they don't have the resources.
As for your scientists looking for funding, that's a load of hooey. If they wanted funding for stupid reasons they'd just join the gas giants in proving it's false. Gas companies have a lot to lose in this economic shift, so they'll pay scientists all they want to have them say that climate change isn't happening.
If the scientists just wanted money, they'd just go with the status quo, not against it. That's like saying people love to struggle, even though there's a much easier path. Noone really takes the hard road if there's an easy very paved road waiting for them. Your logic is flawed there.

I agree with you - back in the early 80's, these same "Climate experts" were saying the earth was entering into a new ice age - they had their climate models to prove it also. Anyone that doubts all the hoopla over global warming should look up Michael Crichton's web site and check out some of his thoughts/speeches on the subject. As to "a majority of scientists...blah, blah, blah" - a majority of scientists also believed in eugenics until Adolf Hitler made those ideas unpopular and the funding for that line of research dried up, so maybe scientists ARE motivated by the all-mighty buck, hmmm?

Global warming is a fact. The "maybe" part is that the scientists do not know for sure what the effect will be five hundred years from now. With all the scientific advances of today, they can't predict what will happen in time. The big worry seems to be the increase in sea water, and the decrease in land mass. By that time we may be colonizing other planets, and not need so much land mass here. You might also find beachfront property in Oklahoma.

Certain things in natural are contributing to global warming such as Oak Trees because they emit chemicals which is the reason why the smoky mountains are smokey. Also volcanoes cause far more than humans but humans are not helping the cause.

The problem is that the 'Climate change' is happening too fast. Below is a link where you can find a chart of concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere over the past 250 years. As you can see from the beginning on industrial revolution the concentration of CO2 goes up rapidly and it is still speeding up. It would not happen naturally.

If you have any doubts that global warming is real, check the website for (possibly) the smartest man in Canada - Dr. David Suzuki. He's been warning the world about global warming for years ........ (by the way, a quote from CBC.ca:
"Suzuki has dedicated himself full-time to educating the public about the importance of the natural world. It's a role that places him alongside the likes of Carl Sagan and Jacques Cousteau, and makes him one of the world's most effective ambassadors of science - and our future.")

Scientist have better than a 90% certainty that global the majority of global warming is caused by hydrocarbon emissions. They can easily measure the amount of C02 in the athmosphere and water systems.
Yes, there are greenhouse gasses emitted natural, as in volcanic activity. But the amount of C02 emitted by humans is equal to a mount st. helens explosion occuring every day.
go to epa.gov for more info.

a lot of people do not realize that our solar system is travelling through our galaxy wich in turn is travelling through the universe.so much like the seasons of our own planet as it orbits around the sun there are seasons in our solar system as it orbits around the galaxy.and whe are entering into one those warmer seasons that is heating our sun up wich in turn heats our planet up.and yes mankind will hurt a bit but those that survive will make up a much stronger and wiser human being.
