THE WORLD sees you on the evening news acting like a thug- kicking down doors of GOOD people and the bad! It's really sickening and I'm really surprised you smile and pose for the video cameras while you partake in this detestible (criminal) action! Stop taking away the best defensive weapon they have for self defense at close range. Let the Iraqis kick down THEIR OWN neighbors' doors! They are certainly better able to determine whose doors need to be kicked down than you are! If, after 4 years, you haven't trained the Iraqis to kick down doors and confiscate weapons from the "bad" guys-YOU'VE FAILED YOUR MISSION !! It's time to leave Iraq!

you must think we like being there, dealing with the suicide bombers and insurgents that kill people shopping at the market.... ya, its lots of fun... these insurgents are the epitamy of evil, indescriminatly killing 1000´s every month.

you should be thankful a country like America exists! A country that is willing (time and time again) to spend billions of dollars and sacrifice its sons and daughters to stand up for freedom... Name any other country in the world that would do something like this?

maybe you would prefer if Communism and Soviet Union had won the cold war, Freedom and democracy would be a thing of the past... If they would even allow history books to exist.

We´re going to stay in Iraq until the job is done, then watch how Iraq becomes a developed country, look at the countries the US military has stayed in, (Germany, Japan, South Korea) all developed countries with some of the highest standard of living in the world,

look at the countries the us military left, Somalia, Vietnam, most of south and latin america....

so should we stay because things are getting difficult, let the terrorist win?

Two of the bloodiest and most devastating wars of human history originated in Europe and were caused by Europeans and European governments.

Most of the worst human rights atrocities in the past five hundred years were caused by Europeans.

Much of the sorry state of the world can be blamed on European governments and European political policies.

Part of the reason the Middle East is as violent as it is is because of how Europeans dealt with the region after WWI. And that's why the USA is there cleaning up Europe's mess. AS USUAL.

The United States is going to make mistakes - bad things are going to happen. I don't freaking CARE if the rest of the world views the US military as "thugs" - most of these countries have human rights records that would the US military blush.

You must be in part of the world that stood by years agao and watched the jewish people die for their religion another war noone thought USA should be in...the Iraqie woman and children deserve better then what their government can give them and if it takes a little *** kicking, so be it. USA military does positive things that all other countries don't, like sending food into poverished community's that gorrilla army's have for years been starving it's own people. The Iraq's haven't learned how to kick down doors yet. Their new government is incompetent. The government took a two month vacation while the country is in peril. They only pay their troops once a month and when they are supposed to kick down doors, they take off for a week to go home and pay their debts. So there is no consistency. Everything there is a cluster.

How strange it is the you have chosen the name Erudite since it is an adjective describing someone as being learned. If you knew anything about history you would realize that most of the problems in the world were caused by colonization and religious extremism. Your profile states that you served in Vietnam and you were sent over there to serve in a "police action" because of what the French did to that country when they colonized it. Or how about all the problems that abound in Africa? Again that all can be traced back to European colonizing and destroying that continent out of greed. As for Iraq, you have extremists trying to kill the infidels out of religious fervor by beheading or others means. Not only because they have been taught that it is the right thing to do, but because they want to get even for events that transpired hundreds of years ago. Take the bombings in Madrid for instance, Al Qaeda claimed that the bombs were part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America's ally in its war against Islam. Other media outlets claimed that Al Qaeda is upset about the reconquest of Spain that started in 1056 and led to the Moors being forced out. Learn your history and about the evils of blind religious fervor before you start saying how evil and barbaric you consider the US Military to be in Iraq.

However, most of Yahoo! Answers is in agreement you're a COMPLETE IDIOT. Reasons why:

(1) Iraqi security forces do kick down doors. Some of them (like those from the Ministry of Interior) are nothing but death squads. Other unit that are basically decent do work alongside with us. The reason you don't see what is going on with your head glued to CNN is because that covers 1% of what is really going on, and American camera crews naturally pander to shots of American troops rather than Iraqi.

(2) Cordon and search actions are NOT ILLEGAL. Go find attribution in the Iraqi Criminal Code that says so.

(3) Claiming you "helped train the Iraqi people in 1982" doesn't make you an expert on OIF. Where were you from 2003 onwards? EXACTLY. NOT IN IRAQ. What does that make you? A BUBBLEHEAD WITH HIS HEAD GLUED TO THE TV.
