Because the Holy Bible teaches us to tell our children about Him. You have free will to choose whether or not to follow Jesus. That's what I'm talking about when I say free will. But the Bible is clear about what to instruct our children. SO, no it's not undoing God's work and No it wouldn't be better if they chose their own way. Proverbs 22:6 says Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. NIV

As a parent, I am the guardians and teacher of my children and I think most parents want to do what they believe is best for their kids, as every single people who is a parent does ~
whether they are Xian, Wiccan, Pagan, Buddhist, Hindu or any other religious or spiritual belief system.
Most people do chose their own way when they are older, regardless of how they were raised as children. I know plenty of people who have done this in their lives.
It is interesting how lots of people are so intend on dissing or being biased towards Xians challenge them for using that very same free will to decide they love God and JC.
Just an observation....

Why do you indoctrinate your children with math? Because you want them to be able to understand it, use it and make intelligent chooses based on it.
"Free will" simply means that a person has the ability to make moral choices and then is held accountable for that choice. How can a person make an intelligent choice if he is ignorant for the subject?
It is a parent first responsibility to teach their children how to relate to God, the world, and others around them. When you have your own children, you will find yourself teaching them what you believe about God. Will that be indoctrination also?

If anyone is indoctrinating someone, it is the evolutionist and their power grabbing influence portraying any believer as if they are of inferior intellect.
So come off your high horse, and live and let live. Evolutionist have the right to teach their children what they think is proper and right. Why not accord this same right to people who are religious?
The separation of state and church was meant to provide religious freedom to all. Now the NEW RELIGION EVOLUTION has sideswiped all by masquerading as a non-religion which really is false when investigated from a philosophical viewpoint.
Thus they are permitted to teach their philosophy in schools while preventing others from doing the same.

When your child is 7 years old and says "Who's God?"
what exactly are you going to say? Some how or another your going to say something that reflects your own belief's.
Now if a Christian decides to take a child to church, too learn in a Kid's way about the bible.
We do the best with our children, with the best we know. Unfortunately. we may mistakes when it comes to our belief's, If we believe or not believe.
So what's the best choice?
Whatever the parent chooses too do. Plain and Simple.
I was raised my atheist who at a very young age, told me there was "no god", That hurt and I was not at an age to be told that. However my parents did the best with what they knew.

A Child DOES NOT KNOW Right from Wrong, AND IT IS the Duty of the Parents to teach them UNTIL they reach the Age of Accountability. I know some ADULTS who are just as UNLEARNED (Ignorant of the Word of God) as Children in the Word of God, AND I know some Children that some ADULTS cannot hold a candle to. (Mature in Gods Word)
Ignorance breeds Ignorance IF it is NOT Corrected at a young age.ONCE they come of the age of Understanding, YES they can make their OWN Decisions about Christ. Would it not be better to teach them of His Love and Mercy then to teach them it is OK to Rob, Steal, Murder, Covet, Not to Respect their Parents, Lie, and should I go on OR do you understand what I am trying to say to you?

We are commanded by God to teach our children the Orthodox Christian Faith and lead them to the right way to have a real relationship with the Lord.
When they become adults they have to continue to whatever they chose, we can no longer have authority to make them believing, it is their own choice then!

Matthew 28:19.........Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit
It says to make disciples first then baptizing them. This should be the same with children..........we should teach them and when they are old enough to make that choice to be baptized or not.

So you think that Joesph and Mary didn't teach Jesus?
(Luke 2:51) And he went down with them and came to Naz′a·reth, and he continued subject to them. Also, his mother carefully kept all these sayings in her heart.
(Colossians 3:20) YOU children, be obedient to [your] parents in everything, for this is well-pleasing in [the] Lord.
"In the days of his flesh [Christ] offered up supplications and also petitions to the One who was able to save him out of death, with strong outcries and tears, and he was favorably heard for his godly fear. 8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered; 9 and after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him,"
Mmmmmm, Jesus was obedient to his Heavenly Father as well!
And............He had free will

It is the duty of the Christian parents to bring up their children in the Christian faith. If they fail to do so, they are accountable to God. Remember the wise steward?
