It has happened again. Sadly it is usually an atheist, pagan, spiritualist, or such that gets hit. Hmmmm

Yeah, it happens to me a lot, even when I have reasonable answers. People know I'm an atheist and thumbs down me on principle - I bet I get some for this answer.

By the way - I'm glad you're back, Debra. I haven't been on much lately and was pleasantly surprised to see your name. Hope you are well.

It seems that way, but I don't answer a question with the idea in mind of pleasing everyone, or getting thumbs-up, or best answer, etc. I answer a question based on what I either know about the subject, or an opinion that is reasonable and honest.
If someone doesn't like me because of how I answer a question, well,- it's not something I'm going to lose sleep over. I answer honestly and make no guarentees that someone will like the content of such. I don't believe in sugar-coating anything in order to be popular or make friends.

I believe some people just like to give thumbs down. I've seen thumbs down for myself or others who answered a question saying the same as someone else only worded different. I just got 3 thumbs down for agreeing with the question, how do you figure that. I believe that sometimes they don't read all the answer, give thumbs down and don't ever know what they gave thumbs down to. I don't worry about thumbs down because I've realized that a lot of time the people don't have a clue to what the answer should be so they do the only thing they know how to do. Best answers are still given to an answer that has all thumbs down.
Note: Just look at all the thumbs down here.. at least we are causing a form of amusement for someone.

Its probably not you that they don't approve of, but your brains way of thinking. If you say something that doesn't fit in with someone else's ethos, they mistakenly think that you would judge them, and so they take a personal affront. Its my opinion that there is no point to giving thumbs up or thumbs down. This is because all souls are equal, just some are more illusioned to the truth than others. As one's intelligence and perception are defined by one's knowledge, there seems little point in judging anybody, because everyone has different experience and different knowledge's.

Its hard for some people to "get over" thier prejudices and hatreds of people, places and things, when its so "engrained" into them by thier Parents and Grandparents.

When your taught from birth to "hate", and grow up in an atmosphere of it all around you, then its all you know and your way of life. (I have to assume thats why the White Supremicist act the way they do, and thier kids do also, plus the NAACP is just as guilty too!).

When I went into the Marines in the 70s, it was a 'culture shock' for me! I was never exposed to Canadians, Pueto Ricans, and people from all over the Country, and it was "strange" for me to deal with them, being from a "small town". I remember getting into an argument about "big cities" as we are the "hub" of our County, and I thought "this" was a big city, (pop 30,000 at the time), and I come to find out that I was argueing with some one who came from New York City and they had a population of 7 million at the time! Something I couldnt comprehend!

Now that my Son is in College, I tell him to "get out" and meet new people! Dont "pigeon hole" yourself into being a wall flower and see how everyone else's culture is. Have some one as a room mate that comes from a different Country, or someplace other than the State of Ohio. You have to "branch out" and broaden your horizons to make it in the World.

To hate is to limit yourself and close yourself off to the World, and never let anyone else into your "space", thus denying yourself a wide open education.

I wish you well...

Jesse

I never noticed that.

Actually, when I hit a point pretty hard, I can measure how good my answer was by the number of thumbs downs the Christians give me. I especially love that when all I did was quote scripture.

more often somebody would track me and give me thumbs down for every answer i gave..

even if my answer had the same opinion as somebody else's, he would get "thumbs up" while i got "thumbs down"...

Some folks will discriminate others for their religion or other personal beliefs...

Absolutely. I have gotten "thumbs down"for advising someone to be good to others, also for saying I would be willing to die for my family. Just spiteful crap is all

It's just another way those that 'preach' tolerance and acceptance for everyone equally show their intolerance.
