For the idiot that thinks there is nothing to hunt, If you have a DC1 you can hunt deer. You can also hunt any gamebird such as pheasant or grouse, rabbits pfff an arrow is overkill for something that small.

I read on the official government hunting and conservation site, exactly what brad says. So I am convinced it is illegal, now I just want to know why.

the simple reason is there is no licencing system for bows so you would have every muppet in the country out sticking arrows into allsorts of wildlife and causing inhumane suffering and pain in the process. i know how accurate and powerful these weapons are but at the end of the day you still have to hit vital organs to stop your intended quarry but your average idiot will just go about hitting deer in the a**e and watch them run away with an arrow hanging out. if it wasnt for these people we would have a lot more in this country, eg, handguns would still be here for licenced people to purchase.

There seems to be a lot of controversy between hunters on this one. Is it perhaps because they have such small minds.
For me it sounds most reasonable and proper that it should be illegal to hunt with a bow.

It isn't, in fact it's one of the few weapons an Englishmen is legally allowed to carry in public!
There are many legal uses of the bow in England to this day these include;
1). The legal obligation to practice the longbow for 2 hours on a Sunday.
2). You may kill a Welshman between the hours of midnight and sunrise inside the walls of any English town or city.
3). The right to hunt game and deer 'for the pot' on any common land (but not within a Royal Forest)
And there are many, many more!

it is criminal to possess and use a bow for aim shooting yet bow searching is prohibited in the united kingdom. you choose permission to shoot on any land, even if if purely at objectives. it is incredibly lots all you may desire to be attentive to,
