LOL and I cant wait to see some of the ones I get. I see so many folks on here truely looking for answers for example I just read a post about a mom needing some help with her recently diagnosed 2 year old autistic son. Someone said maybe he is jealous of his sister and someone else said beat him, someone else said give him up for adoption. We see idiots like this on the parenting boards daily but I would think if people are getting 10 or more thumbs down because of their stupid rude disrespectful answers then theyshould get their account with yahoo answers suspended. Do you agree? I wish something like this was more accesible 13 years ago when I had my first child. I prefer experienced advice opposed to books. It is annoying to weed through the rude answers when people are just looking for help. I wonder if any of you rude people realize that you may need advice some day and if you are like this in real life off the net then you are going to have few friends and have horrible kids.

Its one thing to be funny its another thing to tell someone there child is a gay sissy at 8 years old if they dont beat the crap out of the kids bullying them...it is rude to tell a parent they are not a good parent if they stick up for their child at a young age and report bad behaviour to the school. Patrick..if you see this I am was talking about the the people that for example told a woman her son was gay because he slept with a stuffed animal at age 6. Or those who say beating up kids on the playground is fun. Those are the ones that I dont think would make good parents. Fun is one thing but I see alot of people wanting serious help and advice and to many people not taking it seriously. I just think it is rude and shows a person character. My gram always said if you cant say something nice then don't sayanything at all.

I agree but I think a lot of people on here are young teens trying to have a game and others who are trying to gain points. Some I think are trying to see how many thumbs down they can get or how many times they can get thrown out and try again.
sometimes the questions are annoying and people start giving rude answers cause the questions are so dumb. For example the question "Am I pregnant?" is on here 5-6 times a day and after a while you just want to shout at the person and say " go get a test or see a doctor" There is no way for people on here to know if someone is pregnant and the question is ust annoying.

Some questions can be answered in a humorous way with no harm done and everybody laughs. But for some people this may be the main place they turn to for help. If they have no friends or family to get advice from this site could be a life saver for them. I think an intelligent person can tell the difference between the light hearted question that can be given a light hearted answer and the serious questions asked by people who are desperate for some real information.
So obviously all you idiots out there who constantly give stupid answers to serious questions (and you know who you are) are completely lacking in intelligence and need to get a life! This is a site where people help each other, not where you just score points off others by giving stupid answers. That said I can understand the odd funny answer given when a question really tickles you. And before anyone says otherwise I have got a good sense of humour.

I go to other boards on other sites for specific subjects . . . but I do come here for those ramdom questions as there is a wide audience (and a variety at that!). I appreciate the total open forum. But yah, the attitude here is kind of "free-for-all" ... and as it's on a point system, it makes it worse . . . they'll just anything for points . . . and say anything just to say anything!

I am used to hawk-eye moderated boards with strict rules . . . there is NO way some of the answers here would be tolerated. If I want a serious answer, I go these boards. If I want to see what "others" have to say, I come here and take it with a grain of salt.

The idea here is also to pick and choose what you think is the best answer . . . and the stupid answers are obviously not even close. I've seen "ignore" buttons on other boards - but it won't happen here. So you will just have to ignore those useless answers.

If you want to go to a serious board for all your questions about kids, I recommend http://www.babycenter.com and it's not just about "babies". You'll find honest answers there and if you come across any "trolls", you bet they will get the boot!!

Some of the dumb answers are annoying, but some are amusing. I think you just have to take the good with the bad as someone said -- oh, and check the answers you like with REAL sources of information. That said, sometimes I'll ask a serious question because you just never know who is out there -- and maybe an answer won't be quite right, but it leads me on to something that is right. (-: And a good laugh never hurt anyone.

People who say dumb things are really to be pitied -- I mean, someone with so little in Real Life that they spend time being a smart a$$ on the internet -- that's sad.

I know what you are talking about. But if you will just take a step back and take a look at the whole picture here. On a place like this--You have such an array of people--all ages--all walks of life--in their own home with such a variety of personalities. We need to learn to accept this. Yes, this can anger me but also, we are not professionals here so if a professional answer is needed, then go to a professional. Just try to ignore a lot on here. At least that is what I do. Good luck.

OK I'm with you 100%!!

If I'm looking for advice I do not want someone to give a stupid answer.

I do understand that some people really do not know the answer and make something up. When what they should do is go to another question.

I remember when I asked a question and about half were very stupid they were not giving real advice.

Good Question!!

For some, I think it is a place for them to behave differently than they behave in real life... here you can be rude without any real consequences and say things that you would never say in reality. I with there was something that could be done too... but I think it is just a part of the package. To get back at some of them, I find the stupid questions that they ask and answer them with some equally idiotic crap. I gotta say... it can be fun to tick them off in return!

Yes I agree with you, I strongly agree. I am glad that you feel what I feel. Parenting is not an easy role that's why parents are seeking help from any body to fulfill their duty right but there are people outhere that just can't understand and it is easy for them to play with the feeling of the hurting parents and the worst of it they give reactions that so insulting. But don't worry there's a right place for those people. I believe to the saying that "anything you do it will go back to you."

My father always said, "Ask a silly question and you will get a silly answer!" That being said, I think that it is amazing how many people take the questions seriously and do their best to help. It restores my faith in humanity to see so many who genuinely care about their fellow human beings and take the time to offer a hand. Let's look at all that really tried rather than the lunatics that just blew it off!

the answers you get are worth every cent you pay for them.

if you think the parenting answers are bad, check out the religion&spirituality section---OMG. Ignorant, sarcastic atheists and Bible-thumping inbred fundamentalist Christians duking it out, with the occasional deranged Muslim and a few kids who think that being a Wiccan is a great way to set their parents off like a rocket---but somewhere in the answers there is usually a handful of rational responses.
