Then just let the kids get together and play and then eat cake. My kids don't remember the 2nd. Shoot, I bet my son doesn't remember the 4th. But playing is always good. Avoid organized activities, but maybe have a craft table available. Just don't count on all the kids wanting to do it at once. Finger foods like chicken fingers, fruit, crackers are good. Cupcakes are good, they will just destroy a cake. Have fun.

Finger food is the best - chicken strips, crackers, cheese, cut up fruit, little cups of yogurt, cheesy bread or small pizza (made out of english muffins). Things that are easy for little ones to eat. Have the kids decorate a cupcake or a cookie (of course with an adult's supervision) instead of having a cake. At this age, there's not a lot of structured play that you can have - so make sure that you have a safe area where they can play. I hope that you also invite the parents of the children you have attending so that you're not watching a bunch of 2 year olds by yourself. At 2 - they won't remember much of anything. They'll see what they did during their 2 year old party when they're older and see the pictures you took.

I wouldn't go too all-out. 2-year-olds are awfully young to be able to appreciate a party just yet.
Keep it simple with games like pop the balloon and crawl on your belly races and simon says etc.
Or just hold it at the playground and let the kids run around for a good romp - bring wet-wipes to wash hands and faces before they eat. But keep it simple.
Make the cake from a bunch of store-bought snowball cupcakes - just stick them together like a caterpillar and use candy bits for the eyes and antennae.
Serve kid food - pigs in blankets (hotdog bits wrapped in bits of biscuit dough and baked), vegetables and cut up fruit, pretzles and juice boxes. Limit the sweets.
Give each kid a goodie bag with an age-appropriate toy (check out the dollar store and again, limit snacks and candy)
Keep it to about an hour - just like any playdate.
I know you want the world to celebrate Jr. birthday - and as a good mommy, you should feel delighted. But again, Jr. is still a baby. You don't need to go all out - just keep it simple.

Kids like hot dogs and pizza. A two year old is too little for that. How about chicken nuggets and tater tots, cupcakes and Popsicles for desert. popcorn or peanuts may cause a chocking hazard for little toddlers. if you are having many kids of that age together be sure to have enough adult supervision. some older kids (4 to 7) have different wants and needs. and will require foods other than Gerber and toys to keep them busy.
If you are planning a party remember that a 4 year old is twice as old as a two year old. and they all CRY allot. ..Have fun..

Assuming the invitees are around the same age....finger foods. Apple slices, goldfish, vanilla wafers, juice boxes, grapes, etc. Don't go to fancy, the kids won't eat it. The parents will do fine with the typical chips and dip, sandwiches, sodas, etc. Remember, they'll be chasing kids, so keep it easy to handle.
For cake....definitely go with cupcakes. Way easier and no forks. Ice cream can be dipped ahead of time into small plastic cups then placed in the freezer until needed. This keeps the kids from having to wait for scooping and is also easier to handle.

PB and J cut out in shapes of the theme of the party with cookie cutters. My daughter did this- huge hit!
indivdual baggies with goldfish, mini choc.chip cookies and friut snacks.
cupcakes
non picky fruits like watermelon and strawberries. never met a kid who didn't like those
chicken nuggets (you can dinosaur or star shapes from tyson)
corn dogs
pizza
whatever your 2 year old likes, other 2 year olds will like. Just give them stuff that your kid would eat

Definitely finger food! Bite size cakes, sandwiches, cookies, chocolates, meat patties/nuggets, fruits... nothing with gravy though, 2-year olds are good at spilling accidents! Just provide lots of milk and juices. Take lots of photos and have fun yourself too!

Pigs in Blankets! Get the canned croissants in the biscuit section, hot dogs, and american cheese. Roll 1/2 a hotdog, and 1/2 slice of cheese in one triangle of dough, and bake according to can directions. Children LOVE them! (Heck, I still love them!)

hot dogs and mac&cheese are good foods that most little kids like cupcakes that are frosted then maybe a few different sprinkles so the kids can decorate their own...
lots of inexpensive presents to give as prizes to give winners of easy games google games for kids "invisible" kool aid so that spills won't stain anything if thats a concern
