If you're asking if it's possible for a man to have asymptomatic HPV and still pass it on, the answer is obviously yes. However, the majority of infections clear up within 6-12 months, after which you will most likely not transmit the virus.

Still, this is a gray issue. Ask your doctor, and follow his/her advice.

Of course. My fiance has HPV and he doesn't show any signs or symptoms of the virus. He had genital warts one time and they were treated and went away with medication, but he still has the virus.

Unfortunately, since there is no test for men to detect HPV, most men are unaware they have the virus and end up spreading it around unknowingly. And, since there is no test for men it's basically impossible for them to know if they have the virus or were able to get rid of it, like some woman can.

At this time there is no HPV test for men. A doctor can visually examine a man's genitals and surrounding areas for genital warts, a symptom of HPV. Many times men do not present any symptoms of HPV.

Yes, the virus will always be in your body in a dormant state. You can still pass it to others.

You need to have another test done and a second opinion, that explains test results.
