most asthma meds will raise blood pressure. it's sometimes quite the trick to balance the need for those meds and keeping your bp under control.
Try adding potassium rich foods to your diet, get rid of the herbal diuretics. Drink at least two liters of water a day. Potassium is the best natural diuretic there is. this site will give you a list.

Breathing exercises have had a very positive effect on my blood pressure. Exhale through your nose, emptying all the air in your lungs (simutaneously contracting the abdomen). Next begin a slow inhale through the nose...expanding pushing out the abs. Hold for a count of 5. Slowly exhale and repeat five times. You can do this whenever you're feeling stressed.

Avoid convenience foods (they're loaded with salt) and do not add salt to your food. Eat a variety of fresh fruits and veggies. Avoid anything with white flour or fried.

You might also enjoy some gentle exercise...yoga, walking, tai chi.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol.

Drink Rooibos tea. It has a beneficial effect on blood pressure.

Best of luck!

Does your Physician know you're taking the herbal diuretic? I am asking because Blood Pressure medication has a diuretic in it already.

Advair is an inhaled steroid and while it *could* raise your BP a some, it's not drastic. What is your blood pressure and how high is it?

Try to stay as calm and relaxed as you can. Decrease your intake of caffeine and sugar. Take in cammomile (Celestial Seasoning's makes a Tension Tamer tea that's great). Other things you can take are Coenzyme Q10, Garlic, fish oil, magnesium and folic acid. Hang in there until Tuesday.

Stop those herbal diuretics, may be you will not requiring one. Well you have started self medication as I will call it, quit all herbal product and if the BP readings are high go to an ER as it can be secondary to your asthma.
Mean while your health is more important to hell with insurance.
STAY RELAXED AND LEAVE IT TO GOD.

It's possible.
Try to create a stress-free environment for yourself and relax, relax, relax.
But the most important thing for you to understand about blood pressure (and your doctor knows this) is that it's not just what one reading in his office tells him on Tuesday. It's the overall picture of your combined readings, high and low and average, over a period of time. If your doctor has not had you taking your BP and logging it and monitoring it over a period of time and tries to medicate you based on one reading in his office, you should consider a second opinion. That's just not how blood pressure works.

I don't think you should try to lower your blood pressure before you go to the doctor... you should go to your appointment in the state you are in right now so he can treat you the best he can...if you alter your blood pressure temporarily he may not tell you the right things you need to do.
