I have 2 kids, both in carseats. I want something fast with good handeling (I like to drive like a racer). Need pretty good gas milage(long commute), and would really like for it to be pretty. Oh, need it to be dependable(which I know nothing about). I have a Tribute now which I LOVE, but the milage is gettin high on it, so I need something new. Cant decide whether I want another SUV or if I want to go back to a car?! HELP!

Oh... just for you concerned citizens, where I live the speed limit EVERYWHERE is at least 55 so I pretty much have to drive fast to not get killed. As for interstates around here you have to go 90 to not get run over. But luckily I have been professionally trained and know how to not take it over the limit, and to handle my car:)

Great. You have 2 kids, and you like to drive like a racer. Good parenting.

In any case, good mileage and SUVs don't go hand in hand. Most of them are not very reliable, either. And what is "pretty" is so much a matter of opinion that I doubt anyone here can help much. So I am not going to factor that into this at all.

I recommend a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. They are bigger cars with some room, but they both have excellent safety features (probably safer than an SUV), great reliability, decent gas mileage, and you can drive them fast if you want to. I just don't recommend it if you value your children's lives.

Nissan Sentra SER SpecV. Fastest production car available for under 20k. And its four door so makes the carseats easier. And well gas milage is not so great if you drive it like a race car but if you take it easy on the pedal it gets great gas milage.

Get a used cadillac.Plenty of room and nice handling, rides nice.Gas mileage abiut 14 per gallon. Fast. Will beat most cars off line at a light and they will catch up after their sewing machine motors are whining. It's kind of comical. Then just touch the gas and leave them in the dirt. I like mine and it's worth the price of gas.

Since you already have a Mazda, you may like the Mazda 6, or the sportier version the MazdaSpeed 6. These cars are mid-size, sporty, and economical, and are a great alternative to the boring Camry/Accord family sedans.

Mileage really has no impact on the condition of the car, until parts start failing I would keep what you have, dont speed with your kids, it is unsafe for them, and could end you up in jail for child endangerment.

Use your head your a mommy now, time to act like one.

Get a minivan.LOL
