red sore and puffy are certainly some of the signs of an infection

and you can get an infection if you got poked with an infected needle

Depends on the infection.

If it were HIV, then you would see nothing much at the infection site. If it were Staph Aureus, then it would be red and puffy.

yes/that is a sign of infection/go to dr and get treated
