I had a cold and have been coughing for over a month now - I haven't had any cold symptoms for ages now.
Last year I was coughing for about 3 month and I normally Do that every winter (I am renowned for it!)
I had investigations last year chest x ray camera down nose etc but nothing was found. They tried asthma in halers with no sucsess.
I am so fed up with it. I cough so much I am sick/nearly sick. I cough and acid comes up - then feel sick.
Could it be the acid that is making me cough not the coughing brining up the acid?
Or could it be aything else - has anyone else experienced this?
Before you tell me to go to the Doc's I am going this afternoon!

Acid refux is often a cause of coughing, and you may not be aware of the reflux.
Do you wake up coughing?
Diagnosis by treatment: Ask a gastro man to precribe omnopradex or something similar. If it works...

hey, I've had a cough on and off since january (also don't smoke) but everytime I go to the doctor, am given some sort of medication that doesnt work. So havent been for a while, but I put a dehumidifyer in my room, and hoover often to get rid of the dust, I think this must be helping as the cough hasnt been as bad over the last couple of months or so. I had just moved into halls of residence, so I think it must be the damp and dust. Maybe yours could be for similar reasons? Also after having a cold, a cough often follows for the next couple of weeks, as the cough receptors are more sensitive. Not sure about the acid reflux though. Hope you get well soon, and get it sorted for good

Maybe you should get tested for TB or even Bronchitis. If you smoke that may be it as well. But I would certainly take this serious. You should also try and do a search on google: coughing, phlegm, and acid reflux....I wish you luck.

I recommend you put a good quality air cleaner in your bedroom and have it running continuously. This is going to help a lot. The I'm sure your medical doctor will have some other suggestions.

instead of going to a regular doctor, go see a specialist. you might be suffering from allergies and not even know about it. i was misdiagnosed for years , doctors telling me i had astham because it was genedic, it turned out i suffered so bad from allergies that it makes me have massive asthma attacks and end up with dry coughs for long periods of time.
