I was over 400 about month ago and I've been trying to lower it naturally. I cant afford medical help so I've been doing it all on my own. My sugars are down and I was wondering if this number was okay. Its a waking glucose number.

Well it is a heck of a lot better than 400. But no your number should be between 80 and 120 when you wake up. Remember this is after not eating for 8 hours. So it should be low.

You obviously are doing really good at going sugar free,

Of course no carbohydrates (they become sugar in your body)

Believe it or not cutting out pork and beef will cut your numbers also. My husband eats almost NO beef or pork and on his a1c (the three month study) it gives you an average of the previous three months. This test runs from 0 to 10 (bad)
My hubby dropped his 3 point in 6 weeks by dropping those two meats.

Good Luck and keep up the good work.

No, it's not normal, it's high. Mine is also like that, higher in the morning. There is a name for the condition, but I can't think of it right now. A lot of diabetics have this issue.

Way to go on lowering it from 400 though!!!

Mine was recently up in the 400-500 range, but it was due to me taking Pednisone for an illness. Gosh it made me feel horrible, my hand and feet swelled up and my joints were really achy. I had so much water in my hands, it would drip from the pores if I let my hand hang, relaxed for a while.

A lot of people are recommending fruits and veggies, but not all fruits and veggies are good at keeping your sugar levels down. Oranges and tangerines can spike your levels, due to the sugar in them. Carrots also have sugar in them and they are good for you, they just have to be done in moderation.

For some reason, there is a warning about eating grapefruits, on one of my medications. I take Actos and Metformin, and the Metformin warns against eating grapefruit or drinking the juice. I don't know what it does, maybe it weakens the ability of the medication, but since I hate grapefruit anyway, I've never check into why the warning is there.

I use, as rule of thumb, that the sweeter a fruit is, the worse it in on my sugar level, and it usually works out that way.

I've found (even though I'm horrible at sticking with it), that excersise is the best thing to keep my sugar level down. I recently bought a recumbent bike, and when I check my sugar level and ride the bike enough to work up a sweat for 15-20 minutes and take the sugar reading 1/2 hour after the bike ride, my sugar level can drop by a huge amount. Exercising burns off a lot of excess sugar in your system, and will help burn off fat too, so your get a two fold benefit from it. Even taking a 30 minute walk with my dogs helps a lot.

Having a sedentary lifestyle is what got me into this mess. When I was younger and played softball, football, and jogged 3 times a week and was about 80 pound lighter, I never had any problem with my sugar level. It's when I got injured at work and couldn't do my normal activies that I used to do, that I started gaining weight and having issues.

Good luck on getting your levels down even further.

A good place to check out is www.diabetes.org they have all kinds of information.

first of all 183 isnt super high. thats not bad, you caught it early. Im assuming you have seen a doctor. if not you need to. He will put you on either a diet, meds, or a combo of both. You can also see a dietitian and they can help you plan out a good diet to help you keep your numbers down. Trust me that 183 is not super high, i was diagnosed in the 400's, and that was even catching it early. If you have not already, look up your local dietitian and make an appointment.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Between 70-120 is normal fasting, and it should be 120 or less two hours after you complete a meal. Looks like you're doing much better than before, but sometimes diet and exercise just can't cut it on its own. Medical care is expensive but your blood sugar is still much too high.

Yes, it is still too high. Try checking with the American Diabetes Association's website for information on getting your meds for free. Some of the manufactures will send you meds if you meet an income criteria. Also, there is a ton of information on controlling your disease.
