How do I get a bug out of my ear. It has already bitten me and there is some swelling & bleeding. I have tried to get it with the tweezers but I am afraid of going in too deep. I have it filled with alcohol right now, (which hurt like hell) but nothing is coming out. I am not sure if I killed it or if it is just sitting still. Help please!!!!!!!!!

Uh, okay, so I forgot to say the part about I have no insurance and no way to pay a hospital bill. Sorry, I am not a dumbass, just a little forgeful, but thanks for pointing me to the hospital, I had thought of that though.

UPDATE!! I went to the ER last night and it was a big bloody foxtail. If anyone doesn't know what that is, it is part of a weed that grows profusly in California and it has barbs on it, so it only likes to go one way and apparently in this case that way is "in". That thing did NOT want to come out, hence the blood. Then they put eardrops in my ear to help with the pain, and now its 12 hours later and I still can't hear out of that ear. I am hoping that it (or I) didn't puncture the eardrum. Anyway, thanks to everyone for your answers.

The ER. The ER cannot legally deny you care based on your having-or not having-insurance. There may be an urgent care facility near you, too.

The ER is there for a purpose; emergencies; which this might become if there is a bug and he decides to go digging or you start to dig with those tweezers and do some real damage to your eardrum or other structures.

You might have killed it and probably did. But you don't know what the alcohol did. See a doc or NP at his office, ER or urgent care.

I had this done to me one time when i was around 11.
Just calm down... take the stuff out and sway your head.
Focus on something else otherwise you'll just make it worse.
Dont forget that once you think something is wrong emediately go to the doctor. You could have a disease.
Just shine a torch in your ear and get someone to look for it.
If he or she sees it then they are able to reach it if they can ACCUALLY see it. Just becareful what you do. The only movemnent you should do with your head is sway it from side to side.

do NOT put anything else in your ear....go the ER....most likely the doctor will inject lidocaine into your ear canal which will kill the bug over a short period of time, after which the doctor can remove the bug with a small instrument.

Get to your nearest hospital at once. This is a medical emergency. Happened to me once. If they don't suction it out, it could cause irreparable damage to your ear drum. Aren't you in severe pain? I know I was, only I didn't know it was a bug at the time. I thought I would go crazy with pain.

You must go to a doctor or the Emergency room. This could cause hearing loss. You could damage your ear drum, then you would need surgery.

HELLO,
THE REASON WHY YOU DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING YOURSELF IS BECAUSE YOU CAN PUSH THE BUG DEEPER INTO YOUR EAR CANAL.
GO TO THE E.R. WHERE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS TO SEE IT AND REMOVE IT.
