I was told mine was 2.4 and that this was low. is this very low what would a normal level reas.

Yes that is very low. From the number that's probably ionized Calcium they are testing you for. And that's usually above 4. If just blood calcium that should be at least 8. You should have your parathyroid gland checked because the function for parathyroid gland is to regulate calcium distribulation in your body. Calcium too low can affect your heart rate and other function and can be dangerous.

Ok, I never say this, but you are WAY low and need to call your physician for answers.
Normal is above 8.

assuming you are not a yoing growing child, 9.0–10.5 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). BTW, vitamin D, and estrogen levels have a >lot< to do with Ca absorbtion.

you have to know what the standards the lab is using to give you that answer every lab is a bit different
