I just got diagnosed, and after months of have a severely irritated outer vagina, I also have a very irritated anus. It hurts to have a bowel movement and it also itches. My doctor's office said that the problems I have been having are probably related to testing positive for HPV. I don't feel any warts on my vaginal area, yes, there are some very sore parts, irritated skin and bleeding every now and then. My anus also bleeds everytime I have a bowel movement. Is there treatment for this? Or is this my life now?? HELP!

For your bowel movement that is uncomfortable try flaxseed oil and eat lots of veggies. DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!! =)

As for HPV there is no cure for the virus but the symptoms and side effects can be managable and it's not a life threatning thing. No worry. HPV is very common and most of the population have it. Most men / women are carriers with no symptoms. Most of the time your immune system learns to surpress it and next thing you know you don't ever see symptoms again.

Statistics say that 6months-2 year it can clear but, it's different for every person! =) I don't really go by other peoples experience. I do listen to opinions but everyone is different.
EXERCISE, DRINK VITAMINS, EAT RIGHT...and you should be good.
Keep up your papsmears...=) LISTEN TO YOU DOC....

Unfortunately, there is no universal HPV treatment. For most cases of HPV, there is no recommended treatment unless genital warts are present or abnormal cervical changes have been detected by a Pap smear. HPV treatment depends on whether the HPV has caused genital warts or cervical dysplasia.

Treatment of genital warts include prescribed at home topical creams, freezing or burning the warts, and other in office treatment. Keep in mind that genital warts do not pose any major health risk and are not related to cervical cancer.

Changes to the cervix detected through abnormal pap smears can be treated in a variety of ways. The goal of treating cervical abnormalities is by removing the affected tissue before it becomes cancerous.

This is commonly done by a LEEP procedure. Depending on the extent of the cervical abnormality, other treatment methods may be used, including surgery.

Most cases of HPV that cause abnormal Pap smears require no treatment. They generally go away on their own within two years. It is important to follow up on abnormal Pap smears to ensure the cervical dysplasia is not getting worse.

Hope this Helps.

I had HPV before and had to get a colposcapy too. I was lucky enough to not have the cancer forming kind and it ended up going away and now they come back normal thank God...but remeber there are many different HPV types and only four to five are fetal...I wouldn't stress until the absolute final results....Good Luck to you..

You will need to get some treatment, because HPV can lead to cervical cancer. There is a vaccine out now so I don't know if it's too late for you to get it. it's a series of shots within a 6 mo period. You need to find out what they are going to do from there. You need to get a pap smear and they can tell you if you have abnormal cells in the cervix so hopefully you can get this under control immediately.

Techically there is no real cure but usually when it goes away it never really comes back. Sometimes your body may clear it out on it's own over a few years too. Just use condoms.

It goes away, but you MUST be careful and stay protected because guys are carrying it all day, unfortunately they are not tested for it, they pass it on like crazy. you must keep up with your PAP SMEARS yearly, to make sure that you don't get cervical cancer..... PLAY HARD BUT PLAY SAFE.
