I read the lis and i'm the only one saying YES. LOL. Well i live in pennsylvania. Just last weekend i went to Poconos where i witnessed the most amazing site of Bald eagles. There was a male, a female and 2 babies. Their babies hatch in early february. Anyway, While on the trip, i acquired the information that the number of bald eagle nests have gone up in the last few years to a reported 100 right now. So, that means that there are atleast 100 right now in pennsylvania. Their numbers have risen enough for them to be degraded from endangered to threatned. The endangered species act is a law and not a joke that you can name any animal / bird you want as endangered. even if they get degraded from endangared to threatned, govt' services for them are not going to change much.

Even though their populations are increasing many scientist predict that encroachment of habitat caused by the Bald Eagle being taken off of the Endangered Species List would a major decline in their population. In fact there is several quotes from officials in the DWR which state the Bald Eagle population could go extinct on the East Coast of the United States.

NO because there are many benefits from being on the endangered list. They are protected in a lot of ways and their population and definitely not gone up enough to classify them as not endangered.

I saw on the news that people are suggesting that people take them off because they are not considered endangered anymore, but if they are taken off the list there are people that would kill them just to say that they did. If they are taken off the list they will end up back on it in less than 2 years. It's easier to just leave them on it.

The endangered species act should be repealed or at least modified since it is so often abused. Everything is endangered to some degree, albeit minutely.

definitely not. the eagle is still not completely back from extinction I see a few here and there, but there are still people out there shooting them and poisoning them. so I hope that they never take them off the endangered list.
