If you want to use real eco friendly products to clean your house here are some examples. I use them to clean my house and they work perfectly. I got the info from the net.
Cleaner 1: All-Purpose Cleaner
Mix 1 quart of warm water, 1 teaspoon of liquid soap, 1-2 teaspoons of borax, and either a squeeze of lemon juice or a splash of vinegar to cut grease. Store this solution in a spray bottle and use it for cleaning countertops, floors, walls, rugs, and more.
Cleaner 2: Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Pour 1 cup of vinegar into a bowl. Toss in a handful of baking soda. After this solution foams, pour it into your toilet bowl and let stand for awhile. Then scrub toilet bowl clean.
Cleaner 3: Tub/Tile/Sink Cleaner
Pour either baking soda or borax on any of these surfaces, and scrub with a good stiff brush.
Cleaner 4: Window/Glass Cleaner
Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with 1 quart of warm water. Wash surface and dry with a paper towel or crumpled newspaper.
Cleaner 5: Carpet Cleaner
Mix 2 cups of cornmeal with 1 cup of borax. Sprinkle onto the carpet. Leave it on for one hour, then vacuum. For tough stains, blot spot with vinegar in soapy water. Repeat until the spot comes out.

Mrs. Meyers is good and they have different fragrance choices like lemon verbena and lavender. I like Citra-Solv as a general all-purpose cleaner and it contains natural orange oil in it and smells wonderful (if you like the smell of oranges) Seventh Generation also makes non-toxic cleaners. If you want to make your own though, just get a big jug of white vinegar and mix with water. For tougher things throw in some baking soda. But I'm lazy, I just buy the ready-made stuff. :)

I use baking soda and vinegar to clean a large portion of my home. The fizz that the mixture creates is a great cleaner for my sinks, toliets and clogged drains.
I love the fresh clean smell that doesn't leave that fake chemical scent.

Vinegar and water: Mix 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water in a water bottle as an all-purpose cleaner. It also disinfects.

I use "GTC" (greening the cleaning) and it is available at http://www.imusranchfoods.com/
Say what you will about Imus and his terrible choice of words, but this product is great... I have used the all-purpose cleaner, laundry detergent and window cleaner and my husband loves there coffee, chips and salsa. The products are not that much more expensive that the more well known products and the profits go to help kids with Cancer.
Works well, better for the environment and helps needy kids - can't get much better!

White Vinegar is excellent. I use it all the time for cleaning, and even put a cap of it in the laundry. It is also not expensive, I buy it by the gallon.
Baking Soda is also a good cleaner and not harmful.

As mentioned before, vinegar is great. It's a pretty good disinfectant too. Baking soda can work as a scrubbing powder like Comet or Ajax. Cream of tarter can clean too. Mother nature makes all kinds of good stuff.

Just about the only cleaners I use are soap, baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide. From these four ingredients, I can make most of what I need around the house.

Check out How Clean Is Your House. The ladies on there can clean almost anything with biodegradable dish soap, salt, vinegar and baking soda. And the houses they clean are NASTY! So if it works on that kind of mess it will work for normal cleaning.
