Dear lady, my recyclables far outweigh my trash. My city has been recycling for years and has set the standard for the metroplex. While other cities have struggled, my city has actually found a way to make it profitable and keep taxes down. It's a great program and I encourage those around me to recycle.

Yes, indeed. I am a BIG advocate for recycling ever since I was a volunteer at the local recycling station.
The place where I live now has house-side recycling for small recyclable items. The refuse/garbage carrier provided every resident with a recycle bin and they pick-up the materials every week. It's great. All cities should negotiate this service.

Well I live in Europe where recycling is huge. Regular garbage only gets picked up once every 2 weeks, paper and plastic only get picked up once a month. The metal and glass bin is across the street. I have become the recycling master. I wish America was as stringent as over here!

Hmm..no. Mine aren't anywhere close to me..I usually use the bins at my office. I think there should be more bins throughout every town, perhaps one day we can have bins in neigborhoods like regular trash cans. Besides, if we all seperated our paper, tin and glasses to recycle we'd have a lot less use for more garbage cans and can replace them with recycling bins.

I dont, but that is only becuase we have local garbage pick up for recyclables. We have a seperate can for paper, glass, plastic, etc. I think that you should use them. After all the if you spread the population out everyone would have about 4 acres, the garbage that they would create + our landfills would overflow the 4 acres. Recycling is good for you and the planet...

Where I live they actually give you a separate (large) plastic rolling trashcan, and they pick up one day a week. I previously did not recycle (we would have to take it downtown to the recycling center--no thanks) but now do it religiously.
I am surprised when I notice that some neighbors still do not recycle, given how easy we have it...

Unfortunately we do not have that type of program here in Pittsburgh. I would use it if it were here but for now I just recycle the regular way. I see those types of thing more often in boroughs.

our city provided personal recycling bins at our homes. at it gets picked up by them makign it very convinient. So yea, i use them, takes a little bit more time, but when you think about it, if we each did our part it does make a difference
