Over the past week and a half or so I've experienced extra heartbeats. For example, My heart will be beating normally, and one beat will seemingly "jump in" before the next beat. The thing is, it's actually a nice sensation because it feels like a very small amount of air is involuntarily being exhaled when this happens. It happens at random, or when I walk up the stairs at my house. Ironically I seldom experience this when I'm running on the treadmill.

Is there anything wrong with me? And if there is, what can I do about it?

You may have an irregular heart rhythm. I was diagnosed with Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. It is a heart rhythm disorder. One minute my heart will beat normally then just like a light switch, it would start to beat very fast. Sometimes over 200 beats per minute. At first, I thought I was drinking too much caffiene but I cut out caffiene and I was still having the symptoms. When I went to the emergency room, at first they thought I just was having "Premature heart beats" They say they are harmless. You would be best to see a Cardiologist. They were able to diagnose my condition with an event monitor. I would record any irregular heart beats. If it was not for the event monitor, I would not have been diagnosed so easily. I have had these symptoms since I was 17 and I am now 37. I had a procedure to correct the heart rhythm disorder in January of this year. So far so good. I would recommend that you see a Cardiologist. If you see your regular Doctor, he/she may not be able to diagnose your condition if you have one. A Cardiologist would be the best doctor to see. Good Luck! You only have one heart so get it checked out. Hopefully, it is just stress or too much caffiene.

This is called a heart arrhythmia, which is just a phrase for an irregular heartbeat. There are many different types of arrhythmias, with some indicating a serious problem, and others are benign. There is nothing you can do about it, but there are medical treatments if the problem is a medical risk. You might consider visiting a cardiologist to make sure this isn't some warning sign of a larger problem. Tons of info at this link:

It sounds like a heart palpitation. It is a relatively minor heart problem, usually caused by stress, smoking, caffeine, etc. You should still see a doctor to make sure it isn't anything serious. He will be able to advise you on ways to correct it.

You're asking the wrong people. See a Cardiologist, if he thinks it's a problem then he'll give an Rx for it.
