I challenge everyone to look at their food labels, look up any "chemical" ingredient, and tell me what effect it has on the human body. I already know, but I want to see how many of you will take the time to know what goes into your bodies. Your searches WILL shock you.(check your shampoos and soaps too!) Tell me what you have learned, and maybe you can tell me something I haven't learned yet!!!

O. M. B. I can't believe that I don't smoke but people I know do I beg them not to but they don't listen I also found these thought it might be interesting for u to know nail polish remover, vinegar, toliet and floor cleaner, posin, lighter fluid, rechargable batteries, car exhaust fumes, insecticides, achohol, a body tissue preserver, gas chamber posin, swamp gas, rocket fuel, mothballs, insecticide/addictive drugs, disinfectant, candle wax, industrial solvent, THOSE ARE ALL THE CHEMICALS IN AN INGREDIANT!

I have a food allergy so I am stuck looking at all of the labels. I have started to choose to eat a lot more fresh foods because it lacks many of the chemicals. Currently they are finding a number of chemicals in breast milk and they are negatively effecting children's development.

I don't worry much about what is in my food. When Johny Carson asked Euell Gibbons what natural food was, he said it was food grown without chemicals, using only natural fertilizer. Johnny said he would prefer to eat chemicals than natural fertilizer.

All jokes aside, I really think people are overreacting these days to food additives. There is MUCH worse stuff, like food born diseases, some of which can kill you in 1 day, that can be in food naturally, while most the the additives are suspected of causing 1% higher cancer rates after 30 years of eating them or whatever. Many of these chemicals are what we use to prevent those food born diseases.

unfortunatly, yes.
one of the grossest is urea.. pregnant horse urine. Then there is all of that sticky coconut (you'll see it has coco in the chemical name) derived stuff in face wash meant to "clear pores".. fragrance, perfume, alcohol, lanolin (an irritant taken from sheep) its all so gross... then there is food. Bug is aloud in canned goods... not alot, but any is nasty. twigs in ketchup, etc. mass production gets sloppy. meat! ew, anyone seen "fastfood nation"? I don't know how true it is, but it is mass production. And then there is the diabeties express... all the corn syrup in everything!! Ug, no wonder americans look the way they do. anyway, this is without a search, but clearly I'm a nerd enough to know about it. I'm not saying I do much about it, but I know. Anyone in LA look up seventh street produce market. That nasty-ness goes into our A rated resturaunts..

the best way to know what's in your food is to buy whole foods (ie foods without labels) and make it yourself. Make extra food and put leftovers in the freezer for quick meals at lunch or at home on days when you don't have time. Make snacks and keep in airtight containers. I save 5-10 dollars per day by making extra for dinner and having it for lunch the next day.

I am one who reads labels in grocery stores before buying products. Thanks for reminding me. Don't buy canned vegetables. It's already dead food after being canned, and you definitely don't want the surprise you will get after opening a can of vegetables that has been in your cabinet to long. Fresh and frozen fresh is best.

I eat Sunrider food. It is internationally awarded for its purity and the nutritional content is amazing. It's used by Olympic teams and their performance is well above average. They have home and personal products that are totally green and clean.

If the food in and of itself doesn't kill me, between pesticides, chemicals and other "acceptable" ingrediants (rat feces, bug fragments, hairs), it's a wonder you want to eat anything
