I went from 60 mg of prednisone and am down now to 15mg. I am being weaned off slowly. My question is when will my moon face go away. People told me at 20 mg but that didn't happen. My acne is gone and other side effects, any idea when the moon face starts to go away I am so sick of this!

I know your pain. I started on 60mg of Prednisone and gained 55 pounds in no time and had the same moon face. It took a long time to be weaned off of it, but it was worth it. This has been about 5 years ago, but it seems like within two or three months of being off of it I had lost all the weight and therefore the moon face. My skin was a disaster, too, but everything did get back to normal. Good luck and hang in there!

It just takes time. I was on 60mg of prednisone for a long time before being weaned off. I still am battleing the weight gain and as I lose the weight the moon face also goes. But even without the weight loss the mooon face just takes time. Wait to see results until after the prednisone is stopped.

It takes several weeks to a month after dropping below 20 mg for the puffiness to disappear. I was on prednisone for a long period of time. Nearly all of the puffiness disappeared within a few weeks of stopping the prednisone, but it permanently made my face a little fuller because fact deposits developed in places where fat wasn't present before the prednisone. I don't think this is a common occurrence.

I think when you decrease your dosage will it start to dissipate. I've been on prednisone and even at low doses my face was starting to look like my Aunt Ling's. Discuss this with your doctor.

I feel your pain with the moon face...I was on steroids for over 6 weeks with very slow taper off.
It will take few weeks for your face to slowly go back to normal. One day you will look in the mirror and wonder when it happened!
Tincture of time I'm afraid.
Be patient
