cans are melted, reproccesed and bottles are disinfected plus u help so that new aluminum, which has harmful effects like deforestation and air solution decrease and theyre very strict about safety like u can recycle milk gallons but theyre not made into bottles again because not all the germs are assured to be killed they make it to plastics liketable cover and stuff like that

If we don't begin to really recycle more then we are going to be paying a high price later on. Look at the cost of gas-we need to explore other options so our children one day don't have to pay a large some of money for a gallon.
Recycling is a great thing to do. They take extreme measures to make sure any and all germs have been removed. Think about it....we use so much plastic that if we didn't recycle we wouldn't have some modern items.
Each and every person needs to do their part...how ever big or small that part is it will make a difference. It could be something so simple as placing plastic bottles in the recycle bins or newspapers for that matter. Many areas are now charging people more that don't recycle. You'd be surprised to see if you recycled everything that you normally throw out (cans, bottles, newspapers, etc) you would see how little trash you actually have.

There are strict guidelines as far as how recycled materials can be used for food and medicine products.
Plastic bottles when they are recycled it basically sterilizes them and they are like brand new.
For paper packaging, such as microwavable containers the paper cannot come into direct contact with the food. There must be a barrier of non-recycled packaging that comes between the food and the recycled paper. This is done because of the possibility of inks tainting the food.
So as a consumer you are kept very well protected by the companies that design your containers while at the same time they try using recycling practices when they can.
Recycling saves a lot of energy and also keeps that product from filling up our landfills. For instance, it only takes about one third of the energy to recycle an aluminum can as it does to produce a new one.
I believe that the dies aren't usually removed. Normally plastic will get sorted by color or only a certain percentage of recycled material is added to the new material if it is mixed so that it doesn't distort the color. However for such items as plastic bags those mix of colors can be coverd up by coloring the plastic black.
When glass is recycled it is completely like new also.

They re-use the plastic or aluminum to make brand new clean containers. I'll bet you didn't know that, did you? And like another user said, even the water you drink is recycled, which even includes the water that is in your juice. Just what did you think your juice is made of, turpentine? Horrible thought, isn't it? - The same water that I piss today could end up in your recycled plastic juice bottle tomorrow! Look at the percentage of juice in your drink - the rest is added water. Hopefully, most of the bacteria will have been removed from my aqueous offering to your refreshment. Drink up, Robert!

Well, first off, recycling isn't reusing. Bottles and cans that are recycled are ground down into metal and glass and then reformed into new bottles and cans. The material is thoroughly cleaned during this process.
I recycle because it's better for the environment and my wallet. In my town, we pay for each town trashbag we put out but recycling is free. So, each bottle and can that I throw away costs me more money because it takes up space in my trashbag. Also, I recycle out of habit. I've been recycling at least 15 years and it would feel weird not to.

You drink out of the same water public water fountain everyone else does. You also use the same public restroom everyone else does, so i dont quite see what the big deal is about drinking from a recycled can would do. Anywho, the recycled cans are sterilized as they are reformed and sterilized into a can again. It is also better to recycle a can as it takes less energy to reform a soda can from recyled metal than it is from new mined metals.

Yes, I would drink out of a can or bottle someone else used, if I new it was a recycled product. I prefer to always use recyclable cans and bottles to help save our environment. I care about my family and their future, as well as yours.
I prefer to recycle because it saves our natural resources. It also lowers the amount of trash sent to landfills.

You drink out of a glass that other people have drank out of at the restaurant. Recycles are cleaned and sterilized at a lot hotter temps than that and it keeps the stuff from going to the landfill.I recycle cans, bottles, plastic, ink cartridges, paper anything that can be. I want this world to be safe for my children and grandchildren.

We absolutely need to recycle in order to prevent further destruction of trees and our waste facilities from being overloaded. A plastic bag will never disintergrate. The process in which our products are recycled, is enough to sterilize and assure that we are not eating and drinking out of dirty contaminated containers. We all need to help in this for the future generations. Things are bad already , so imagine when our children , or our children's children are older , just how bad the global warming situation is going to be as well.

not all products that are recycled become containers that we reuse for consumption.
My office used recycled paper (feels just like the real thing)
But the reason I recycle is that we do not have to use up so much land fill space. I would like to see my future great grand children be able to play in a park or the the back yard just as my children now do and not have to do so with trash that could have been recycled.
Yes I know that land fills can be filled in and made into green space just like Mount Trashmore Park in VA. Mount Trashmore Park is 165 acres. The mountain is 60 ft. high and over 800 ft. long, and was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil. The park is open from 7:30am to sunset. Facilities include four large and many small picnic shelters, playground areas, a basketball court, four volleyball areas, parking, a walking trail, vending machines, and restrooms. The park is open from 7:30am to sunset.
The park features two lakes, Lake Windsor located along South Blvd, is brackish water fed by Thalia Creek. Fishing is allowed. Lake Trashmore located along Edwin Dr, is freshwater and is stocked with fish. No private boats are allowed on this lake, but fishing is allowed.
But what if you did not have to do that and could just keep the world a little cleaner in the process.

With many plastics, recycling them does not mean making them into what ever they started out as. A soda bottle might become part of a helmet. Recycling is also good because it reduces the need for landfills.
