A while back when I worked a temp job in an office, I was told I had to cut the sodium...period. I did. I also lost weight based on several factors: Reduced sodium let the water leave my body.
Believe it or not I landed a very active moving office job that required going from plant to office and constantly moving around the office. I averaged about three to five miles..
I waited for my digestive system to empty the contents of the gut and tell me it was hungry. I ate vegetables and pasta and low sodium products...Fruit.
Ok, you asked about cholesterol..After about a month and a half I noticed feeling different. I am positive that there was a reduction of cholesterol because pills cannot reduce my cholesterol...I was able to deal with stress better...
How am I today? Terrible thanks for asking...arthritis, high cholesterol, high bp, and miserable. It was a temp job. The best one I ever had and I got it on my own...
Also, Dr Ornish has a good idea about the whole heart thing which blantly states...get moving a lot and eat healthy

Saw somewhere they are designing a machine that will remove the plaque, problem being the heat involved tends to also damage the blood vessels.
