this could be an allergy problem believe it or not. pollen or any other of the allergens out there can cause you to have that phlegm by building up in your chest. i know cause i have that problem to. i saw an allergist n now i'm doing better. check out an allergist if you can n let them do an allergy test on you to see what you may be allergic 2. you'll be surprised at what shows up if anything. in the meantime you could get a saline mist moisturizer 4 your nose n use it every 4 hours or so as it says on the directions. an expectorant can help loosen it up also in the mean time. good luck. i hope you feel better.

I do not know where you live as in what Country. However my Nephew has hay fever, but he lived in Dubai and came here on Holiday. I was up with him at 3am, head over the steam that had menthol in the water and what he hacked up, buckets. Then I took him to the beach and we walked for a few hours to get him used to the pollen. Slowly built up until his body adjusted. When he landed back in Dubai, same reaction and the 'filters' in the 'air condition' had to be changed and only then did all this stop.
I learned that in air conditioning, while the filters do trap some pollen, some still gets through, so make sure the filters are changed. Likewise you need to build up to exposure. I like you hack up phlegm every day, but then I have Arthritis and my lungs get inflamed. The Hospital thought it might be a bug, so tested the phlegm but it was sterile, could not grow anything in or on it. Still get through one box of tissues a week.
